The Nein is an indie rock band from Durham, North Carolina, and is composed of former members of The White Octave, Steel Pole Bath Tub, and Piedmont Charisma. The band is signed to the Canadian label Sonic Unyon.

Finn Cohen, Robert Biggers, and Casey Burns formed the group in early 2003 in Durham, North Carolina. After self-releasing a handful of EPs, the band signed to Sonic Unyon and released their self-titled debut EP. Dale Flattum joined the group in 2004 and the group released their full-length album, Wrath of Circuits in 2005 on Sonic Unyon (with a vinyl version release on Red Strings Records later that year). Burns left the group in early 2006, and the group began work on new material and future touring with Josh Carpenter (of Asheville, North Carolina). In September, 2006, Sonic Unyon released an EP of material previously recorded with Burns, entitled Transitionalisms, which preceded the release of their second full-length album Luxury .

He was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina and was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina where he received a degree in journalism. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon and is the Art Director at Bladen County Records.
Diana Gordon, previously known by her stage name Wynter Gordon, is an American singer-songwriter. She began her career writing music for other artists, later singing with Atlantic Records where she started to work on her own album. Gordon has performed backing vocals in the studio and she continues to collaborate on writing. Her debut album With the Music I Die was released in 2011.

The Inflation Kills [TIK] were a band from Hamilton, Ontario, featuring founding members of prominent Southern Ontario independent bands Kitchens & Bathrooms and Hoosier Poet. Members of the band were: Phil Williams (vocals/guitar), Matt Fleming (guitar), Nicholas Daleo (drums) and Adrian Murchison (bass). After indie-math-rockers Kitchens & Bathrooms disbanded, Williams went on to start The Inflation Kills in 2004 with the intentions of demonstrating an aesthetic shift from more complex time signatures, toward a rock and roll inspired approach, and reestablishing a long commitment to an independent approach to musical creation. The Inflation Kills has one, self-titled, full-length album released through the [now defunct] TikTokTikTok MUSIC! collective and distributed in Canada through Sonic Unyon.
Terra Lightfoot is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario who has released four albums with the independent music label Sonic Unyon Recording Company and is distributed by Universal Music Group in Canada and The Orchard outside of Canada. She performs in a folk and roots rock style known for bold vocals and electric guitar riffs.
George Higgs was an American Piedmont blues acoustic guitarist, harmonicist, singer and songwriter. He recorded three albums in his lifetime, although he spent over sixty years performing regularly, mainly in his home State. In 1993, Higgs was granted the North Carolina Heritage Award from the North Carolina Arts Council.
