The Other Half of Letting Go... is the fourth official mixtape from Milwaukee, Wisconsin rapper Gerald Walker. The mixtape was released on September 20, 2011, through One Step at a Time Music. [1] The mixtape is named after American painter Esao Andrews' piece also titled "The Other Half of Letting Go." [2] The mixtape's lead single, "The Missing Piece" is produced by Chemist. The second single, "Shackles" was produced by J.LBS. The mixtape was originally scheduled to be released by Grand Hustle Records, however Walker announced his intention to self-publish: "No Grand Hustle, we're gonna do this ourselves." with a September 20 release date. Background

Gerald Walker said he began working on the mixtape immediately after I Remember When This All Meant Something...[.] However, he halted production while working on his collaborative debut effort, On Your Side, with Taylor Gang producer, Cardo. The mixtape serves as Walker's second release in 2011. [4]

The mixtape's first single was "The Missing Piece." A music video was shot and released through One Step at a Time's official website on August 18, 2011. The video was filmed, directed and edited by Xavier Ruffin. The second single "Shackles" was released on June 8, 2011 via BlogOrDiePGH.com via Twitter. [5] [6]

Grand Hustle Records, also known as Hustle Gang Music, is an Atlanta, Georgia-based hip hop record label, founded in 2003, by American hip hop recording artist T.I. and his business partner Jason Geter. Up until December 2012, the label was distributed by Atlantic Records. It currently operates as an independent record label. The label is home to artists such as B.o.B, Young Dro, Travis Scott and Trae tha Truth, the latter of whom also serves as the label's vice president. Young Dro

D'Juan Montrel Hart, better known by his stage name Young Dro, is an American rapper. After gaining recognition with his regional hit song "Yes Sir", from his 2002 independent album I Got That Dro, Young Dro aligned himself with fellow Atlanta-based rapper T.I. and signed to his label, Grand Hustle, in 2004. Young Dro's debut Best Thang Smokin', was released in August 2006, under Grand Hustle and Atlantic Records. The album was preceded by his debut single "Shoulder Lean", which served as the album's lead single and proved to be a hit in the urban community and Billboard charts. After amassing an abundance of mixtapes, Young Dro released his second album High Times, 7 years later on October 15, 2013, under Grand Hustle, Atlantic and E1. It spawned the single "FDB", his highest charting single since "Shoulder Lean".

Ace Hood American rapper from Florida

Antoine Franklin McColister, better known by his stage name Ace Hood, is an American rapper. He was born in Port St. Lucie, Florida and raised in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was initially signed to DJ Khaled's label We the Best Music Group in 2008. He has released four studio albums with his most successful of which being Blood, Sweat & Tears (2011) and Trials & Tribulations (2013). The albums contained his highest charting singles, "Hustle Hard" and "Bugatti", respectively. In 2016, McColister announced his departure from We the Best Music and is currently working as an independent artist.

Jermaine John Coleman, better known by his stage name Maino, is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York City, New York. He is perhaps best known for his debut single "Hi Hater," as well as its follow-up "All the Above," the latter of which features American singer T-Pain and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). B.o.B

Bobby Ray Simmons Jr., known professionally as B.o.B, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and conspiracy theorist from Decatur, Georgia. In 2006, B.o.B was discovered by Brian Richardson, who then introduced him to TJ Chapman, who subsequently brought him to American record producer Jim Jonsin. After hearing his music, Jonsin signed B.o.B to his Rebel Rock Entertainment imprint. Two years later, Jonsin and B.o.B signed a joint venture deal, with Atlantic Records and American rapper T.I.'s Grand Hustle Records.

Gerald Walker also serves as the executive producer for the majority of the mixtape with help from Barron 'Slot-A' Bollar.

Hustle Hard

Hustle Hard is the first official single from Ace Hood's third studio album Blood, Sweat & Tears. It originally appeared on Ace Hood's preceding mixtape The Statement. It is produced by Lex Luger. The official remix features Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. The original music video and half of the remix music video was made on the same day. A version of the track featuring Swizz Beatz was also a part of Swizz' "Monster Mondays" program. The remix music video was released to 106 & Park: BET's Top 10 Live, on his birthday, May 11, 2011.
