The Perfect Cult is the fourth studio album by the Swedish metal band Deathstars. It was released on 13 June 2014 via Nuclear Blast. [1] [2]

In an interview with New Noise magazine, frontman Whiplasher Bernadotte was asked what the band did differently in this album. Bernadotte responded saying that "It's different in a lot of ways, for example it's also not as outgoing as the previous ones. It's more personal this time. Private. It's not party darkness, more personal darkness. Also it's more synth oriented sound wise and has a slower pace throughout the material." and describing the music as "European audiosex". When asked about recording Bernadotte explains how some songs were "written just a few months before we entered the studio", whereas others have "been ready for several years". [3]
The album was met with generally positive reviews, with Cryptic Rock rating it 5/5, saying that the album "gifts quality instead of quantity, making it perhaps their best album to date and one of the biggest surprises in 2014". [4] PlanetMosh also gave the album a full 5/5, saying that the "tracks dynamically waves from fast rock'n'roll like, to sing along anthem and marches again until the end. There is no way, it is possible to get bored through all of this". [5] Metal-Temple gave it an 8/10 (excellent), saying that the album "does not represent anything completely new or innovative" and that the album is "an auditory representation of the yin yang symbol: the first half is lighter and frankly slightly lacklustre, with a hint of underlying darkness". [6] sputnikmusic gave the album a 3/5 (good), saying that "Deathstars work on their musical formula and produce a sound which is definitely bigger, but not necessarily better, than before". [7]

Static-X is an American industrial metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1994. The line-up has fluctuated over the years, but was long-held constant with band founder, frontman, vocalist and rhythm guitarist Wayne Static until his death in 2014.
Korn is the debut album by the American nu metal band Korn. It was released on October 11, 1994, through Immortal and Epic Records. Before recording the album, the band was approached by Immortal/Epic Records after a performance at Huntington Beach, California. The band signed to their label because they did not want to "sign away all of their creative freedom". The band would record at Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, California, with producer Ross Robinson, who also produced their 1993 demo Neidermayer's Mind. The recording took place from May to June 1994. After the recordings, Korn toured with Biohazard and House of Pain.
Tristania was a Norwegian gothic metal band formed in 1996 by Morten Veland, Einar Moen and Kenneth Olsson. Tristania's music is usually classified as Gothic metal with death influences, due to its strong tie and legacy within the gothic metal history. Their songs largely dealt with dark and sentimental topics, including depression, sadness, suicide, love, absence, and anger.
Too Dark Park is the sixth studio album by the industrial music group Skinny Puppy. The album cover features the debut appearance of the band's "SP" logo. The cover art was created by Vancouver based artist Jim Cummins. The artwork for this album and its associated singles was inspired by cosmic horror stories such as the Cthulhu Mythos. Lyrical themes include collapse of society due to destruction of nature, drug addiction, and psychological issues.
Jon Andreas Nödtveidt was a Swedish musician best known as the founder, vocalist and lead guitarist of the Swedish black metal band Dissection. With the band, he released the seminal and influential extreme metal albums The Somberlain (1993) and Storm of the Light's Bane (1995). In addition to Dissection, Nödtveidt performed with several other projects, including Ophthalamia, The Black, De Infernali and Nifelheim, and also worked as a journalist for Metal Zone, where he covered the growing black metal scene.
Deathstars is a Swedish industrial metal band from Strömstad. Formed in 2000, the group are noted for their dark horror-themed lyrics, pessimistic and misanthropic social commentary, distinctive trademark face paint, dark stage uniforms and physical appearances that correspond to gothic fashion. They have released five full-length studio albums; Synthetic Generation (2002), Termination Bliss (2006), Night Electric Night (2009), The Perfect Cult (2014), and Everything Destroys You (2023).

The Process is the eighth studio album by Canadian industrial band Skinny Puppy. Released by American Recordings on February 27, 1996, The Process was the band's final album before it reformed in 2000 and released The Greater Wrong of the Right in 2004. Skinny Puppy's keyboardist, Dwayne Goettel, died near the end of The Process' recording, and the album experienced difficult production and record-label intrusion.

Night Electric Night is the third album by Swedish metal band Deathstars. It was released on 30 January 2009 by Nuclear Blast. The album was initially recorded under the working title Deathglam. The album's first single, "Death Dies Hard", made its airplay debut on Stockholm's Bandit Rock 106.3FM. Deathstars have now also put the song "Night Electric Night" on their Myspace page.

Saddolls is a Greek gothic metal band formed in 2006 as a cover band. After a few live performances, the band recorded the EP Dead in the Dollhouse in 2007, gaining positive reviews from the press. In April 2008, the band was the support act for Lacrimas Profundere's gig in Athens.

Still Sucks is the sixth studio album by American nu metal band Limp Bizkit, released on October 31, 2021, through Suretone Records. Work on the album began in 2012, but the album lingered in development hell for the next nine years. The album's lead single "Dad Vibes" was premiered at the end of a performance at Lollapalooza on August 2, 2021, and officially released on September 30, 2021, marking their first brand-new material to be released for seven years. The album features a mixture of their signature nu metal and rap metal sound along with influences of grunge, acoustic rock, post-hardcore, metalcore, industrial metal, and pop. Six months after the album’s release, the band would embark on the Still Sucks World Tour throughout 2022 and 2023.
Darkest White is the seventh and final full-length album by the Norwegian gothic metal band Tristania. It is the second Tristania album to feature Mariangela Demurtas and Kjetil Nordhus on vocals.
Grave Party is the third album of the Greek metal band Saddolls. This album features a major change in the band's sound, combining elements of Darkwave ebm with industrial metal. It also features a collaboration with Skinny Disco from the Swedish band Deathstars for the single Terminate me. The first single Lady Cry was also included at Sonic Seducer's compilation album Cold Hands Seduction Vol.254 that sold more than 60.000 copies in Germany.
Everything Destroys You is the fifth studio album by the Swedish industrial metal band Deathstars. It was released on 5 May 2023 via Nuclear Blast, and the band's first album since 2014's The Perfect Cult.
