The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) is a Pentecostal Christian denomination with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.

History

The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) was officially launched by Bishop Mike Okonkwo on 4 January 1981. The ministry has its headquarters at Obanikoro/Anthony Oke, Lagos. The group also conducts outreach and charity relief work. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

TREM holds an annual convention called Kingdom Life World Conference, which has had speakers including Enoch Adeboye, Matthew Ashimolowo, Ayo Oritsejafor, Mensa Otabil, and Tudor Bismark. Politicians including Peter Obi, [10] Yemi Osinbajo, Babajide Fashola have also visited the mission.

They also hold a musical concert called Zamar, to which they invited gospel musicians including Nathaniel Bassey, Beejay Sax, Dunsin Oyekan, Eben, Neon Adejo and Sunmisola Agbebi. [11] In 2023 they held a Word Celebration. [12]

Ayodele Joseph Oritsegbubemi Oritsejafor, known as Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, is the founding and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, located in Warri, Nigeria. He became the national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) on 7 February 2005, a position he held for five years. In July 2010, Oritsejafor was elected President of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), the apex body of all Christians in the country. In doing so he became the first Pentecostal leader to hold the position. Oritsejafor was the first to launch a Miracle crusade from Africa to a world audience via satellite in 1987 with evangelist Joe Martins.
