History
The band was formed in 2000 by former Far guitarist Shaun Lopez after he briefly played in an early version of Rival Schools headed by former Quicksand frontman, Walter Schreifels, and after he auditioned for various bands, including the Foo Fighters.
In November 2000, The Revolution Smile released At War with Plastic, a six-song EP produced by Shaun, and released on Animation Records, with worldwide distribution. In January 2001, The Revolution Smile solidified its first lineup which consisted of Octavio Gallardo on bass, Tim McCord on guitar, and Jeremy White on drums. They began working on their follow up to At War With Plastic that summer. Once again engineered, mixed, and produced by Shaun Lopez. We Are In This Alone was finished in the fall of 2001 and the band planned to release it soon after.
In January 2002, We Are In This Alone landed in the hands of Geffen records, and they signed the band. Geffen planned to remix and release We Are In This Alone, but the band wanted to make a new record.
In July 2002, The band recorded Above The Noise with Dave Sardy and Shaun Lopez, co-producing. In January 2003, Andy Wallace mixed Above The Noise, and the band launched national tours in support of the album, playing alongside Deftones, Dredg, The Music, Marilyn Manson, Korn, and many others.
September 2003, The Revolution Smile toured Europe with Deftones and A Perfect Circle. They were also musical guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Shortly thereafter, Jeremy White and Tim parted ways with the band. Jeremy White was replaced by Stephen Hoke, and the band became a three piece.
In January 2004, the band asked to be released from their recording contract.
In July 2004, the band played The Warped Tour where they shared the stage with My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, Atmosphere, and From Autumn To Ashes. In June 2005, the band finished Summer Ever, which was also recorded and produced by Shaun Lopez.
Shaun then took time off to produce and record other bands. He recorded bands such as Giant Drag, and Deftones fifth album Saturday Night Wrist.
In August 2006, it was announced on Indie 103.1 that Summer Ever will receive a September 5, 2006 release on Animation Records.
The Revolution Smile has received national and international press in such publications as Spin , Revolver , Kerrang! , Alternative Press , Guitar Player , Rolling Stone online, and Q magazine called Shaun Lopez "one of the most influential guitar players of his generation".
After leaving the band, guitarist Tim McCord went on be the bass player for the rock band Evanescence.
Their song “Bonethrower” from their 2004 album Above The Noise was featured in the soundtrack for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004. The band performed this song on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2003.

Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. They were formed by Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Dominic Garcia (bass). During their first five years, the band's lineup changed several times, but stabilized in 1993 when Cunningham rejoined after his departure in 1990; by this time, Chi Cheng was bassist. The lineup remained stable for fifteen years, with the exception of keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado being added in 1999. The band's experimental nature has led some critics to describe them as "the Radiohead of metal".
Chino Moreno is an American musician who is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the metal band Deftones. He is also a member of the side-project groups Team Sleep, Crosses, and Palms.

The band's cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" topped the Billboard Alternative songs charts in 2001, and was featured in the film American Pie 2.
Happy Mondays are an English rock band formed in Salford in 1980. The original line-up was Shaun Ryder (vocals), his brother Paul Ryder (bass), Gary Whelan (drums), Paul Davis (keyboard), and Mark Day (guitar). Mark "Bez" Berry later joined the band onstage as a dancer/percussionist. Rowetta joined as a second vocalist in 1990. They were initially signed to Tony Wilson's Factory Records label.

Far was an American rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in 1991. Although Far only experienced limited commercial success, the band had considerable influence on underground rock music. They are perhaps best remembered for their rock cover of "Pony", a song originally by Ginuwine, which peaked at #40 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart in 2009.
Will Haven is a noise metal band from Sacramento, California. Formed in 1995, the group released albums through several labels and toured with acts such as Deftones and Soulfly before going on hiatus in 2002. They regrouped in 2005 and have continued to record and tour since. Throughout their history, they have released seven full-length albums as well as two EPs and a live DVD. Their musical style has been described as a combination of many metal and hardcore subgenres.

Saturday Night Wrist is the fifth studio album by American alternative metal band Deftones, released on October 31, 2006, by Maverick Records. Despite early contributions that were later scrapped, it marked the departure of mainstay Deftones producer Terry Date. It was also the last Deftones album to feature bassist Chi Cheng, as well as the last album of his career and his lifetime, prior to being involved in a serious car accident in 2008, which put him in a coma. He eventually died five years later from cardiac arrest.
Timothy Todd McCord is an American musician. He is a member of the rock band Evanescence since 2006, playing bass until 2022 when he switched to guitar. Previously, McCord played guitar for the band The Revolution Smile from 2000 to 2004. McCord is also a member of the Japanese music label, Brave Wave Productions.
Depswa is a four-piece alternative metal band from Modesto, California. The band released two studio albums, two EPs, and a compilation before entering an indefinite hiatus in 2011.
Sunnyboys were an Australian power pop band formed in Sydney in 1979. Fronted by singer-songwriter/guitarist Jeremy Oxley, the band began performing on the city's pub circuit – where, according to music historian Ian Mc Farlane, they "breathed some freshness and vitality into the divergent Sydney scene". Their first two albums, Sunnyboys and Individuals, both appeared in the Top 30 of the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart.
Eros is the working title of an unreleased album by American alternative metal band Deftones, with tentative release dates in 2008 and 2009. The band spent time recording the album from April to November 2008 at The Spot in Los Angeles. The November 2008 car accident of bassist Chi Cheng forced the band to initially hold off on releasing the album, however, and they later shelved the album indefinitely in a creative decision to move forward. With Cheng in a coma, Deftones recruited former Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega and released Diamond Eyes instead in 2010. In the years that followed, the band has had mixed feelings about finishing and officially releasing Eros at some point down the road. The recording sessions of this album marked the first time in five years, since their self-titled fourth album, that Deftones had worked with Terry Date.
Eric Stenman is an American record producer/engineer/mixer currently living in the Los Angeles area. Eric has recorded projects with artists including AWOLNATION, Thrice, Saves The Day, Senses Fail, Deftones, Gameface, M.I.A., Will Haven, Lovedrug, Tokyo Police Club, Far, Irontom, Dashboard Confessional, and many others.
Pacific Ocean Fire were a folk rock group from Leicester, England, who released five albums. Their music was generally considered alternative or Americana.
Released in 2002, We Are in This Alone marked The Revolution Smile's second release, but first full-length LP. Many of the tracks were later reworked and remastered for their 2003 release, Above the Noise, on Flawless Records.
