The Source with Pinky Webb (or simply The Source) was a current affairs and talk show program of CNN Philippines. It premiered on September 26, 2016, and airs on weekdays at 9:00 a.m. PST. from 2016 to 2024. Anchored by CNN Philippines' Senior Anchor and Correspondent, Pinky Webb, who is also an anchor of the network's flagship Filipino language noontime newscast, CNN Philippines Balitaan (a companion show of The Source). The program aired its last broadcast on January 26, 2024, as CNN Philippines ceased live news operations on the morning of January 29 ahead of the network's closure on January 31. It was replaced by Güd Morning Kapatid on RPTV in its timeslot since February 1, 2024.

Background

The program's tagline is "Where we combined the headlines with in-depth conversations with the newsmakers themselves" and "Going straight to the source of the story."

The Source focuses on in-depth, one-on-one interview with different personalities in different arenas, such as politics, government, even entertainment, lifestyle and trending and most-talked personalities in social media.

CNN Philippines' Executive Vice President and managing Editor Armie Jarin-Bennett explains that "The program gives us an opportunity to delve deeper into the issues that are most important to our viewers. It’s also an opportunity to go beyond the headlines, as well as listen and engage with our viewers through social media.” [2] [3]

The Source, also debut a segment called "In Focus", wherein features a light-hearted stories that serves as a balance to the program.

The Source or One-on-One with Pinky Webb won as "Best Current Affairs Programme or Series" in the Asian Academy Creative Awards for National Category on October 15, 2020. [4]

It was replaced by Eat Bulaga! on RPTV in its timeslot since February 1, 2024.

CNN Philippines New Day was the English language morning newscast of CNN Philippines. Patterned after its U.S. counterpart CNN New Day, it replaced CNN Philippines Headline News. The show premiered February 15, 2016, as part of a major programming revamp brought by the appointment of Armie Jarin-Bennett as managing editor of CNN Philippines. It airs weekdays from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM. News Night was the flagship national network news program of CNN Philippines anchored by its chief correspondent Pia Hontiveros. It premiered on March 27, 2017, replacing CNN Philippines Network News. The hour-long newscast, broadcast in English from 2017 to 2022 and after that in Filipino, aired at 6 p.m. on weekdays.

The Final Word with Rico Hizon was CNN Philippines' flagship late-night news program. The show first aired on April 20, 2020, as a replacement to the network's 9pm edition of Newsroom. The show is anchored by the network's Senior Anchor and Director for News Content Development, Rico Hizon, who has come home to the Philippines after a 25-year overseas news stint with CNBC Asia and BBC News. The newscast aired its last broadcast on January 26, 2024, as CNN Philippines ceased live news operations on the morning of January 29 ahead of the channel's closure on January 31. It was replaced by Frontline Tonight on RPTV in its timeslot since February 1, 2024.

CNN This Morning is an American morning show that aired on CNN from November 1, 2022, to February 23, 2024. Succeeding New Day as CNN's morning show, the program was established as part of programming changes led by new CNN head Chris Licht. For contractual reasons, the program also aired in simulcast on HLN, replacing that network's long-time morning show Morning Express with Robin Meade.
