The Stolen Sweets are an American Jazz [3] [1] group from Portland, Oregon. [1] [2] Formed in 2005, the group comprises vocalists Jen Bernard, Lara Michell and Erin Sutherland, Pete Krebs and David Langenes on guitar, and Keith Brush on double bass. [2] They have released two albums so far: Shuffle Off to Buffalo (2006) and Sleepytime in Chinatown (2009). [3] [6] [7]

The band have stated that they formed with the intention of emulating 1920s–1930s vocal jazz group The Boswell Sisters. [2] [8] As well as detecting influences from The Boswell Sisters, reviewers have also compared the band to Cab Calloway and Django Reinhardt. [9] [7]

Reviews of the band have been positive. OPB 's show Oregon Art Beat praised the band's "high-energy shows" and "seamless harmonies". [8] In a review of their album Sleepytime in Chinatown, the Jazz Society of Oregon praised its "impeccable harmonies" and "retro sound". [9]

The Puppini Sisters

The Puppini Sisters are an English close harmony vocal trio composed of Italian-born singer Marcella Puppini and English singers Kate Mullins and Emma Smith. Although the three are not related, the name was chosen in tribute to The Andrews Sisters. Puppini first studied fashion design at Saint Martins School of Art, and later music at Trinity College of Music in London where she met Mullins and original member Rosanna Schura, who was later replaced by Stephanie O'Brien. After eight years with the group, O'Brien was replaced by Emma Smith. The trio are backed by a three-piece band featuring Martin Kolarides on guitar, Henrik Jensen on double bass and Peter Ibbetson on drums. The group is associated with a burlesque revival.

White Ghost Shivers is an eclectic American band based in Austin, Texas which claims cabaret, jazz, vaudeville, hokum, western swing, hillbilly, jugband and ragtime as its inspiration. The band has been declared "Best None of the Above" by the Austin Music Awards for 2005 and 2007.

Comin Home Baby

Hugo Rasmussen

Thara Memory was a trumpeter and educator from Eatonville, Florida. He attended Alabama State University and Marylhurst University. He lived in Portland, Oregon, United States from the 1980s until his death in 2017.

Kinderjazz is a 12 piece big band for young children. It was founded in 1997 by Christobel and David Llewellyn as a way to encourage children with live music. Christobel Llewellyn, sole producer and specialist in music education, has described Kinderjazz's mission as "marinating children in the sound of acoustic instruments playing a wide variety of rhythms, melody, harmony and solos to encourage their spontaneity, develop their creativity and nurture their growing brains in the process". It has performed mainly in New South Wales, specifically Sydney, and has sold out 30 concerts at the Sydney Opera House.

Samuel William Henry is an American drummer, best known for his work with the punk rock group The Wipers. He was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2011.

Elbert "Pee Wee" Claybrook was a prominent tenor saxophonist from St. Louis, Missouri. He lived a life of over 50 years playing jazz swing music. He began his musical career in the late 1930s playing with the Fate Marable Mississippi riverboat band.
