The Trip is an upcoming American psychological thriller film directed by Jorma Taccone from a screenplay by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney. It is an English-language remake of the 2021 film of the same name. It stars Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, Paul Guilfoyle, and Keith Jardine.

In April 2021, an English-version adaptation of The Trip was officially in development, with Tommy Wirkola directing. [1]

By November 2024, Wirkola was no longer directing the film, with Jorma Taccone serving as the director, and Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney writing the screenplay. Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, Paul Guilfoyle, and Keith Jardine joined the cast. Principal photography began on November 19, 2024, in Tampere, Finland. [2] [3]

In 2010, Taccone co-wrote and directed the SNL spinoff film MacGruber, which was his directorial debut. He directed his second feature alongside Schaffer, the musical comedy Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, which he also co-wrote and co-starred in with Schaffer and Samberg.

Schaffer began his career with The Lonely Island making videos for Channel 101. In 2005, Saturday Night Live hired the trio, with Schaffer joining as a writer.
