The Voice Nigeria Season 1 is the first season of the Nigerian version of the TV series The Voice . It was broadcast on Africa Magic from 10 April 2016 to 31 July 2016 and was sponsored by Airtel and Coca-Cola.The winner earned a recording contract with Universal Music Group, an SUV car worth N7 million and a trip to Abu Dhabi. The Voice is an American singing reality competition television series that premiered on NBC on April 26, 2011. Based on the original The Voice of Holland and part of the Voice franchise, it has aired 24 seasons and aims to find unsigned singing talent contested by aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. Singers must be at least thirteen years of age to compete.

The show is hosted by Carson Daly, with Alison Haislip serving as the backstage and social networking correspondent, and the coaches, all well-known musicians, were Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. The inaugural season premiered April 26, 2011, and ended on June 29, 2011, with the live finale.

The team sizes were trimmed back down to 12 per team, with each coach having two 'steals' in the Battle Rounds.

The inaugural season was in 2013 with the first episode airing on Rai 2 on March 7, 2013, the series ended on June 7, 2019, after 6 seasons. The show was also broadcast via radio on Radio Rai and RTL 102.5. In the summer of 2020, Rai 1 announced a new version of the show, the format of The Voice Senior on air in autumn with Antonella Clerici as TV host.
