The Voice Nigeria Season 2 is the second season of the Nigerian version of the TV series The Voice . It was broadcast on Africa Magic from 18 June 2017 and was sponsored by Airtel and Coca-Cola. [1] The winner earned a recording contract with Universal Music Group, an SUV car worth N7 million and a trip to Abu Dhabi. [2]

Idyl was the winner of this season, marking Dakolo's first win. This was the first time of having a male winner and also the first of having a male winning coach. [3] [4]
2Baba didn't return as a coach. Yemi Alade replaced him marking her first season as a coach. [5] Waje, Timi Dakolo and Patoranking all returned for their second season on the show. Stephanie Coker and IK Osakioduwa both returned for their second season as hosts.

The Battles advisors were Bez and Darey for all teams. Bez coached the artists on their vocals while Darey coached them on their stage performance.
Coaches could steal two losing artists and advance them to the next round.
Coach Timi made an exception as he paired three acts together to battle because he turned for "Tara & Bella" after his team was full in the blind auditions.
At the end of the battles each coach had six original artists and two stolen artists making up eight advancing artists on their team. [6] [7] [8]

The live shows kicked off with solo performances by the Top 32 artists, with two artists from each team advancing based on their coach's choice while two from the remaining six artists advanced based on public's vote.

Cobhams Asuquo is a Nigerian musician, producer, and songwriter. In 2005, Asuquo was signed on with Sony ATV London as a songwriter. After working as Head of Audio Productions at a local label, Questionmark Entertainment, he set up his own recording facility in 2006. Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Ebute Metta community of Lagos, he grew up sharing one room with his parents and five siblings. His modest upbringing and close relationship with his family instilled a drive and determination to create a better future, and led him to music He started his music career doing underground collaborations, with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. He signed a record deal with K-Solo's Igberaga Records in 2010, releasing "Up in D Club" under the outfit. Patoranking became a protégé of Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on his song "Alubarika". In February 2014, he signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released "Girlie O", a single that put him in the limelight. On 9 February 2015, Patoranking announced on Instagram that he signed a distribution deal with VP Records. on September 28 Patoranking released a song titled Abule which he released ahead of his album scheduled to be released later in 2020. He once said, in 2020 that he once got inspiration for song on a football pitch while playing football.

Bovi was initially announced as one of the hosts, but ended up not hosting due to him being booked for another show. Tiwa Savage, Oritse Femi and The Mavins followed closely with four apiece. Yemi Alade was nominated for Song of the Year, Best Pop Single and Next Rated. Olamide, Patoranking and Davido each took home two awards apiece. Don Jazzy won the Producer of the Year plaque, while Sir Victor Uwaifo got the Hall of Fame recognition.
