The Zilis were a Canadian rock and roll group from Hamilton, Ontario, active from 2012 to 2017. Two of the members continue to write original music as The Bleeding Idahos. [1]
The group began playing covers as The Led Hot Zili Peppers in 2009 to pay for the expenses of their former band, Dean Lickyer. [2] [3] When Dean Lickyer disbanded, Royle and Bozzo began singing and writing original music as The Zilis. [4] [5] Touring frequently, they released two critically acclaimed albums between 2012 and 2014. [6] [7] [8]
The Zilis played festivals and concerts alongside notable acts, including July Talk, The Sheepdogs, [9] Said The Whale, Monster Truck, Arkells, Hey Rosetta!, Protest the Hero, Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, David Wilcox, Marianas Trench, Flogging Molly, Matt Mays & El Torpedo, KISS,[ citation needed ] Bon Jovi [ citation needed ] and Wheatus.[ citation needed ]
The group went on hiatus in 2017. Royle and Lamothe have since become music teachers and session musicians, and Bozzo is now an attorney. Royle and Bozzo formed a new band, The Bleeding Idahos. [10]

Richard Alfred Newell, better known by his stage name, King Biscuit Boy, was a Canadian blues musician. He was the first Canadian blues artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US Newell played guitar and sang, but he was most noted for his harmonica playing. Newell's stage name, given to him by Ronnie Hawkins, was taken from the King Biscuit Time, an early American blues broadcast.
Arkells is a Canadian rock band, formed in Hamilton, Ontario. In 2006, they signed with Dine Alone Records, and have since signed with Universal Records Canada and Last Gang Records. They have released seven albums: Jackson Square (2008), Michigan Left (2011), High Noon (2014), Morning Report (2016), Rally Cry (2018), Blink Once (2021) and Blink Twice (2022). The band has been nominated for over 15 Juno Awards; winning Rock Album of the Year for High Noon and Rally Cry, and six times for Group of the Year.
Dean Lickyer was a Canadian rock music group formed in 2004 in Hamilton. Originally playing together as High Voltage, the band selected their Dean Lickyer name in 2008 to recognize the man whose love of rock and roll had helped inspire them. Two of the members continue to write original music as The Bleeding Idahos.

Members include pedal-steel player/guitarist Aaron Goldstein, known for his session work with Cowboy Junkies, and Cam Malcolm, who was previously in the band Sweet Homewreckers, bassist Adam Melnick, and drummer Pete Hall who was also a founding member of A Northern Chorus.
The City Harmonic was a Canadian Christian rock band based in Hamilton, Ontario. Elias Dummer, Eric Fusilier (bass), Aaron Powell (guitar), and Josh Vanderlaan (drums) collectively made up The City Harmonic. Their music has been described as "nostalgic Brit-pop meets campfire sing-along mix that features raucous gang vocals along with agile, soaring anthems crafted to include the listener". Musically, their sound is often compared to artists like Coldplay, Keane, Aqualung, the Fray, or Arcade Fire. In 2011 they won three Covenant Awards from GMA Canada for New Artist of the Year, Recorded Song of the Year and Modern Worship Song of the Year. In 2013 they won Covenant Awards for Group of the Year and Praise and Worship Song of the Year. They also won a Juno Award for the 2013 Christian/Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year. After announcing that they would retire, the band recorded their final show, which was released as a live album, Benediction (Live), on June 23, 2017.

Michigan Left is the second full-length album by Arkells. It was announced on August 15, 2011 that the album would be released on October 18, 2011. The album cover and track list were also debuted on the band's website the same day. "Whistleblower", the first single, was premiered on July 30, 2011 and was released for purchase on iTunes July 5. The video for the song premiered on New.Music.Live. on MuchMusic July 21, 2011.
Walk off the Earth is a Canadian indie pop band from Burlington, Ontario. The group is known for its music videos of covers and originals. The band is well known for covering pop-genre music on YouTube, making use of instruments such as the ukulele and the theremin, as well as looping samples. The band's recorded music and videos are produced by member and multi-instrumentalist Gianni "Luminati" Nicassio.
Monster Truck are a Canadian rock band from Hamilton, Ontario. Members include bassist and vocalist Jon Harvey, guitarist Jeremy Widerman and keyboardist Brandon Bliss.
Eric Ratz is a Canadian producer, engineer, and mixer. He has won multiple Grammy and Juno awards. Throughout his career, Ratz has worked with some of Canada's most successful and influential rock bands, including Arkells, Big Wreck, Billy Talent, Cancer Bats, Danko Jones, and Monster Truck. He has been nominated for 11 Juno awards in both the Producer and Recording Engineer categories. He has won the Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Award, two Recording Engineer of the Year Juno Awards, and a Grammy award.

The Juno Awards of 2015 honoured Canadian music industry achievements in the latter part of 2013 and in most of 2014. The awards were presented in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada during the weekend of 14–15 March 2015. The main ceremony was conducted at FirstOntario Centre and televised on CTV. Various concerts and events related to the awards began on 9 March 2015. This marked the sixth time that the awards were presented in Hamilton, which last hosted the Junos in 2001.
High Noon is the third full-length studio album by Canadian rock band Arkells. It was announced on May 13, 2014, that the album would be released on August 5, 2014. The album sold 5,200 copies in its first week and debuted at #3 on the Canadian Albums Chart. It is the band's highest position on that chart in their history. By September 2015, High Noon had sold over 40,000 copies and was certified a Gold Record.
Ash & Bloom was a Canadian folk pop duo, from Hamilton, Ontario, consisting of James Bloemendal and Matt McKenna.
Bros is a rock duo from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan featuring brothers Ewan and Shamus Currie of The Sheepdogs. Bros was formed in 2014 and released their debut album in 2016, entitled Vol. 1. They have been praised for a "funky, sultry sound" that represents a departure from the southern-rock and classic-rock orientation of The Sheepdogs.
