Musically, the song is an electropop and R&B song with various computer effects. It was released as the lead single from Taller in More Ways on 26 September 2005, by Island Records.
Puscifer is an American rock group formed in Los Angeles by Maynard James Keenan, known as the lead singer of the bands Tool and A Perfect Circle. Whereas on the first album, Grand Opening and Closing, Dan Rathbun handled the mastering, on Of Natural History the mastering duties are handled by Justin Weis, who mastered the album at Trakworx, San Francisco.
Gil Sharone is an American drummer and member of the rock bands Stolen Babies, Team Sleep, and formerly The Dillinger Escape Plan and Marilyn Manson. He was also a fill in for the punk rock band +44. His twin brother is Rani Sharone, also of Stolen Babies.

The album features a significantly different, electronic sound and arrangements than Keenan's other bands: the progressive Tool and alternative A Perfect Circle. The video for "Conditions of My Parole" featured Maynard and Laura Milligan from Mr. Show as their characters Billy D. and Hildy Berger, who also appear in character on the album cover.
Naught is the second full-length album by Stolen Babies. Named by Rani Sharone, bassist for Stolen Babies, Naught represents hopelessness: all for naught. This album is darker than the prior album, There Be Squabbles Ahead. Many of the songs on Naught hit close to home for many of the members of Stolen Babies, and is a representation of their experiences at that time. The album was released on September 18, 2012, in digital download format and on October 16, 2012, in CD format through No Comment Records. On September 17, 2012, the album was made available for streaming on SoundCloud and Shockya.com. Naught was voted No. 1 in Revolver's "Album of the Week" readers poll on October 22, 2012 and No. 7 in The Village Voice Blog's "Ten Best Metal Albums of 2012" by Linda Leseman.
Spring and Fall is the nineteenth studio album by Australian folk rock singer-songwriter Paul Kelly which was issued in October 2012 on his own label, Gawd Aggie and distributed via Universal Music. It is due to be issued in Europe and United States in November. The release is his first studio album since Stolen Apples in 2007, and is a concept album as a song cycle "which focuses on a love story told from different points of view". It was produced by Kelly, Dan Kelly, and Greg "J" Walker and was available as a digipak or digital download. The lead single, "New Found Year", was released in early October ahead of the album's release. The album debuted on the ARIA Albums Chart at number eight.
