John Berlinger Breaux is an American lobbyist,attorney,and retired politician who was a member of the United States Senate from Louisiana from 1987 until 2005. He was also a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1972 to 1987. He was considered one of the more conservative national legislators from the Democratic Party. Breaux was a member of the New Democrat Coalition.

It is a bicameral body. The upper house is the Massachusetts Senate which is composed of 40 members. The lower body,the Massachusetts House of Representatives,has 160 members. It meets in the Massachusetts State House on Beacon Hill in Boston.
The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) –formerly known as the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) –is a program administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides matching funds to states for health insurance to families with children. The program was designed to cover uninsured children in families with incomes that are modest but too high to qualify for Medicaid. The program was passed into law as part of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997,and the statutory authority for CHIP is under title XXI of the Social Security Act.
