"Third Time Lucky" is a song by Polish-born singer Basia released in 1994 on her third album The Sweetest Illusion . It was written and produced by Basia Trzetrzelewska and Danny White. The lyrics tell about drawing lessons from failed relationships and having hope for the next partner to be the ultimate.
"Third Time Lucky" served as the final single from The Sweetest Illusion and was remixed by Johnny Vicious. The single was a minor success on the UK Singles Chart. It received a positive review from the Music & Media magazine. [1]
The music video for the song was directed by Nick Morris. It was filmed in Los Angeles, California during rehearsals and the performance at the Greek Theatre in July 1994. [2] The clip also includes footage of streets of Los Angeles. In 2009, the video was released on a bonus DVD included in the special edition of Basia's album It's That Girl Again . [3]

Barbara Stanisława Trzetrzelewska[ˈbaɕa tʂɛtʂɛˈlɛfska](listen), better known as Basia, is a Polish singer-songwriter and recording artist noted for her Latin-inspired jazz-pop music. She began singing professionally in various Polish bands from the late 1960s throughout the 1970s, then relocated to the UK in 1981. She rose to fame as a singer in the British trio Matt Bianco. By 1986, Basia and her bandmate Danny White had left the group to focus on her solo career. She signed on with Epic Records and enjoyed a successful international career between 1987 and 1995, particularly in the USA where her first two albums Time and Tide and London Warsaw New York were platinum-certified, million-unit sellers. During that period, her biggest hits were "Time and Tide", "New Day for You", "Promises", "Baby You're Mine", "Cruising for Bruising", and "Drunk on Love". She had also built up a fan base in Asia. She took a lengthy hiatus due to personal tragedies, then made a comeback to regular recording and performing in the late 2000s. She currently releases her music through independent labels.

It charted in Germany, Hungary and Switzerland and was the band's biggest hit. The song entered the German Singles Chart at number 91, went to number four in October/November 1996, and spent over 18 weeks in the charts. Over 350,000 copies of the singles were sold in Germany and the single was eventually certified Gold. On the Eurochart Hot 100, "A Neverending Dream" peaked at number 29 in December 1996.
