Thiruppunavasal is a coastal village in the Avadaiyarkoil Taluk of Pudukkottai District, [1] Tamil Nadu, India.
The famous Pazhampatinathar / Viruddhapureeswarar Temple which is a Thevara Paadal Petra Sthalam is located here. [2]
As per the 2001 census, Thiruppunavasal had a total population of 3863 [3] with 1929 males and 1934 females. Out of the total population 2792 people were literate.
The Thiruppunavayil Shiva temple is located on the seashore in Thiruppunavasal near Pudukkotai in Tamil nadu. This temple is regarded as the 7th of the Tevara Stalams in the Pandya region of Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity is called Vruddhapureeswarar or Pazhampathinathar.
