Bhavatharini Raja was an Indian former actress and singer. She was the only daughter of noted film composer Ilaiyaraaja and sister of Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja. Starting her career in the 1990s, she mostly sang songs under the direction of her father and brothers. She was awarded the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2000 for her rendition of the song "Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu" from the film Bharathi, composed by her father Ilaiyaraaja.

A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. Priya is a 1978 Indian thriller film directed by S. P. Muthuraman, starring Sridevi in the title role along with Rajinikanth, Aznah Hamid, and Ambareesh. The Tamil version was released on 22 December 1978, and the Kannada version on 12 January 1979. It was dubbed and released in Telugu as Ajeyudu which released on 10 March 1979 and was also dubbed in Hindi as Love in Singapore in 1983. The soundtrack of this film is recorded using Dolby Stereophonic technology for the first time in Tamil cinema. It was Sridevi's first and only Kannada film as a lead actress.

The story follows Vichu (Karthik), a Hindu boy falls in love with Mary (Radha), a Christian girl. How the lovers unite braving all the obstacles, forms the crux of the story.

It was dubbed into Telugu as Madhura Geetham and released on 20 March 1982.

Neethaane En Ponvasantham is the soundtrack album, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, to the Indian romance film of the same name, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon that stars Jiiva and Samantha. The album features eight tracks, with lyrics penned by Na. Muthukumar. The album was one of the most anticipated musicals of 2012 in Tamil cinema. The production house sold the musical rights at an altitudinous price of ₹20 million (US$250,000), setting a record price for audio rights acquirement which were sold to Sony Music India. It was released during a live concert on 1 September 2012. The film's Telugu version, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, also directed by Gautham Menon, reuses the same soundtrack.

Venkateswaran. The film stars Rajinikanth and Mammootty with Arvind Swamy in his feature-film debut, Jaishankar, Amrish Puri, Srividya, Bhanupriya, Shobana and Geetha in supporting roles. It was the last collaboration between Ilaiyaraaja, Vaali and Ratnam as the latter had associated with A. R. Rahman and Vairamuthu for all of his projects, beginning with Roja (1992), which marked Rahman's debut.
The soundtrack to the 1986 Tamil-language romantic drama film Mouna Ragam features five songs composed by Ilaiyaraaja and written by Vaali. The album was released through Echo on double LP, which features three songs on each side of the record, with "Nilaave Vaa" appearing twice. The film and its soundtrack was dubbed in Telugu, under the same name, whose adapted lyrics were written by Rajasri.
