St. Charles County is located in the central eastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 405,262, making it Missouri's third-most populous county. Its county seat is St. Charles. The county was organized October 1, 1812, and named for Saint Charles Borromeo, an Italian cardinal.

O'Fallon is a city in St. Charles County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan statistical area, located along Interstates 64 and 70 between Lake St. Louis and St. Peters. As of the 2020 census, O'Fallon had a population of 91,316, making it the most populous suburb of St. Louis, as well as the most populous municipality in St. Charles County and the 7th most populous in Missouri. O'Fallon's namesake in St. Clair County, Illinois, is also part of the St. Louis region. The two cities are one of the few pairs of same-named municipalities to be part of the same metro area.

John O'Fallon was a businessman, philanthropist, and military officer, a nephew of the explorer William Clark. During the 19th century he rose to become the wealthiest person in St. Louis, Missouri. The cities of O'Fallon, Illinois and O'Fallon, Missouri are named after him. In 1857, he donated over $1 million to establish the O'Fallon Institute at what is now Washington University in St. Louis.

Justin S. Hill is an American businessman and politician from the state of Missouri. A Republican, Hill was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives from Missouri's 108th District in November 2014 and served until his resignation in January 2022. He represented a portion of St. Charles County in the Lake St. Louis area, south of I-70 and straddling U.S. Route 40/61. Hill previously served in the O'Fallon Police Department.
Mark Matthiesen is an American politician from the state of Missouri. A Republican, he was elected in November 2016 from the 70th district of the Missouri House of Representatives, served from January 2017 to January 2019, then was elected in November 2022 from the 107th district.
Tony Lovasco is a Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives. He represents the 64th district, which as of 2022 encompasses a portion of northwest St. Charles county, including a northern part of Wentzville, much of northern O'Fallon, and St. Paul. Benjamin O'Fallon (1793–1842) was an Indian agent along the upper areas of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. He interacted with Native Americans as a trader and Indian agent. He was against British trappers and traders operating in the United States and territories. He believed that the military should have taken a strong stance against the British and firm in negotiations with Native Americans. Despite his brash manner and contention with the military, he was able to negotiate treaties between native and white Americans. In his early and later careers, he built gristmills, was a retailer, and a planter. He collected Native American artifacts and paintings of tribe members by George Catlin. His uncle William Clark was his guardian and financial backer.
