Thomas Tantrum is the self-titled debut studio album by English rock band Thomas Tantrum, released on September 1, 2008. It features twelve tracks which include several songs that were previously released as stand-alone singles.

The album was an Xfm New Music Award 2009 nominee. [1]

Blur (band) English rock band

Blur are an English rock band. Formed in London in 1988, the group consists of singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. Blur's debut album Leisure (1991) incorporated the sounds of Madchester and shoegazing. Zack Hexum is a Los Angeles based, two-time BMI award winning composer for film and television, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. His music has been heard in over 700 episodes of television and movies, including iCarly, Henry Danger (Nickelodeon), Liv and Maddie, Shake It Up (Disney), Peabody and Sherman (Dreamworks). He graduated in 2000 with a degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas music program, where he played lead tenor saxophone in the grammy-nominated One o’Clock Lab Band. As a performer he has played on many recordings including the motion picture Trolls (Dreamworks) and accompanied acts such as Michael Bublé and Fitz and the Tantrums. Omaha-grown, he now lives in Los Angeles with his wife Niki, a singer and songwriter, and their three children.

The Enemy (English rock band)

The Enemy were an English indie rock band formed in Coventry in 2006. The band's debut album We'll Live and Die in These Towns (2007) went straight to Number 1 in the UK Albums Chart on release. Their second album Music for the People (2008) went to Number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. Streets in the Sky, their third studio album, was released on 21 May 2012 and was also their third UK top 10 album. Their fourth studio album, It's Automatic, was released on 9 October 2015. Despite early success in the charts, all their albums were met with mixed to negative reviews, with Streets in the Sky being considered by many critics as one of the worst albums of 2012.

Fitz and the Tantrums are an American indie pop and neo soul band from Los Angeles, California, that formed in 2008. The band consists of Michael Fitzpatrick, Noelle Scaggs, James King, Joseph Karnes, Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards) and John Wicks. Their debut studio album, Pickin' Up the Pieces, was released in August 2010 on indie label Dangerbird Records and received critical acclaim. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The band signed to their current label Elektra Records in early 2013 and went on to release their second LP, More Than Just a Dream, the same year. Their self-titled third album was released in 2016, which contains their most notable song "HandClap". Their fourth studio album, All the Feels, was released in 2019.

Sound of Guns were an English alternative rock band from Liverpool, England, who were formed in 2008. Discovered by BBC Introducing the band went on to sign with independent record label Distiller Records through which they released their debut album What Came From Fire on 28 June 2010 and second album Angels and Enemies on 5 March 2012.

Their first album, The City That Sleeps, was released on 6 October 2008, with one reviewer describing it as "a surefire winner". One critic has said that A Silent Film's style "distinctly echoes" Coldplay, Snow Patrol and The Killers. Their latest album, A Silent Film, was released in October 2015.

"Shake It Out" is a song by English indie rock band Florence and the Machine, released as the first official single from their second studio album, Ceremonials (2011). It was written by Florence Welch and Paul Epworth, while production was handled by Epworth. The song was digitally released in Australia on 14 September 2011, and it was available in the United States on 19 October. It had its radio debut on XFM on 14 September 2011 in the United Kingdom. Welch revealed that the song was written within an hour and according to her it talked about shaking the regrets and the things that were haunting her.

Shake Away is the sixth studio album by Mexican singer-songwriter Lila Downs. It was released on 2 September 2008 on Manhattan Records. After attaining international success in 2001 with her first English record, Border, Downs wanted to release a fifth Spanish-English language project as its followup. In the vein of her earlier work, the album is heavily influenced by world music, flamenco and rock.
