Thor is the 8th studio album by Wizard, released January 31, 2009, by Massacre Records. [1] It is a concept album about Norse mythology and the god of thunder, Thor. It was the first Wizard album with two guitar players.

Wizard is a German power metal band, formed in 1989 by the drummer Sören "Snoppi" van Heek. The band was often called "Germany's answer to Manowar". Most of the band's lyrics are about battles, metal, war and steel. There are some exceptions, for example "Odin", which is a concept album about Norse mythology, "Goochan" which is a fantasy story about a witch, "Thor" which is also about Norse mythology and "... Of Wariwulfs and Bluotvarwes" which is about vampires and werewolves.

Valhalla is a Danish animated feature film released in 1986 by Metronome, based on volumes one, four and five of the comics series of the same name, in its turn based on the Scandinavian tales of the Norse mythology, as they are told in Snorri Sturlusons so-called Younger Edda, and in the Poetic Edda. It was directed by Disney animator Jeffrey J. Varab and cartoonist Peter Madsen, the latter of which is one of the writers and the main artist on the Valhalla comics. The movie takes plot elements told from the three comic albums "Cry Wolf", "The Story of Quark" and "The Journey to Útgarða-Loki".

Goochan is Wizard's 7th studio album, released on 26 January 2007 by Massacre Records. A concept album with an ownwritten story. The story is said to be about the witch Goochan, who will try to save mother earth from armies from another planet, which tries to take over this planet. The story is also planned to be released as a book.
