Those Who Wish Me Dead (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the 2021 film of the same name directed by Taylor Sheridan. Featuring musical score composed by Brian Tyler, the soundtrack was released by WaterTower Music on May 7, 2021. [1]
"We had this challenge of doing something that was very emotional but has a lot of heartache in it. There is aspiration and regret and melancholy and danger and love and loss and all these things within the score that’s really this triangulated suspense movie. But it’s really the story of this boy and this woman that both have all these regrets and loss in their life, that they now are fighting against, not only man and like the evils of man, but also the indifference of nature and fire."

Tyler has previously worked with Sheridan on the Paramount Network television series Yellowstone. Sheridan claimed that "Brian has done many big films—really massive set-piece movies [...] With this film, we wanted the score, the sound design, and the sounds of fire to blend together and leave the audience unsure whether it was being guided by a designed sound, by the sounds of the forest or by the score." [2] Tyler discussed on how the two main characters are lost souls searching for deliverance, where "Hannah is a prisoner of her own guilt and memory, while Connor is battling a tragic loss. But this is also a story of human versus nature, as well as the evils of mankind." [2]
In order to channel an array of thematic tones, Tyler recorded the sounds of burning cello set ablaze with a lighter fluid and played the strings until it burned to a point where it made no sound. The recording of the burning cello recurs as a sonic presence throughout the entire score. He further recorded the orchestral sections in different meters, where he would set the bar of woodwinds to 7/8 and the strings to 4/4 but on the same piece, so that it had an asymmetrical rhythmic tempo to it. Tyler further performed piano solos where the reverb would be out of tune or purposefully detuned from its original sound reminiscent of how the "memories are not actually correct versions of what happened". The piano theme is a melancholic, emotional and heartfelt melody for the two main characters, where instead of having that piano tune, the sustain would be out of tune with itself, with the audience thinking that "this is ugly". Music critic Jonathan Broxton wrote "Those Who Wish Me Dead is a decent score. The intellectual and conceptual ideas behind the score – the interrelated themes and the way Tyler tried to capture the nature of fire itself – are impressive and clearly show him to be a composer very much in tune with his film and what his director needs. The end result, however, doesn’t really bear fruit in the same way. The main theme is good, and the action is exciting, but a little too much of it gets lost in the same sort of abstract groaning and electronic sound design that has infected too many of Hans Zimmer’s prominent action and sci-fi works of late, to the extent that it doesn’t really stand out from the crowd in the way that many of Tyler’s earlier scores did." [4] Zanobard Reviews gave 7/10 to the score, summarizing "Brian Tyler’s score for Those Who Wish Me Dead is a surprisingly quiet, pensive and richly atmospheric album for the most part, though it doesn’t shy away from the composer’s well-known epic orchestral talents where they’re called upon." [5] David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter complimented it as "muscular orchestral". Brian Theodore Tyler is an American composer, conductor and arranger, best known for his film, television, and video game scores. In his 26-year career, Tyler has scored seven installments of the Fast & Furious franchise, Rambo, Eagle Eye, The Expendables trilogy, Iron Man 3, Now You See Me, Avengers: Age of Ultron alongside Danny Elfman, Crazy Rich Asians and The Super Mario Bros. Movie among others. He also composed and re-arranged the current fanfare of the Universal Pictures logo, originally composed by Jerry Goldsmith, for Universal Pictures' 100th anniversary, which debuted with The Lorax (2012), and composed the 2013–2016 Marvel Studios logo, which debuted with Thor: The Dark World (2013), which he also composed the film's score. He composed the NFL Sunday Countdown Theme for ESPN, the Formula One theme, and the anthem for the Esports World Cup. He is also behind the soundtrack of many television series including Yellowstone. For his work as a film composer, he won the IFMCA Awards 2014 Composer of the Year.
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is the official soundtrack album of the 2007 science fiction film Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. It was composed and conducted by Brian Tyler and released on December 11, 2007, by Varèse Sarabande. The score is completely orchestral and incorporates several themes from both the Alien and Predator franchises.
Minions: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2015 film Minions, a spin-off/prequel and the third installment overall in the Despicable Me franchise, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, the latter in his feature directorial debut. The original music is composed by Heitor Pereira who previously worked on Despicable Me (2010) and Despicable Me 2 (2013), where he composed the score with Pharrell Williams. In addition to the score, a re-written film version of "Nothing Else Matters" performed by Metallica, from their 1991 studio album Black Album, was featured in the film and in the soundtrack. It was released on July 30, 2021, along with the soundtrack album distributed by Walt Disney Records. The score was recorded at Sony Scoring Stage in February 2020 and concluded in late-2021, despite sessions being halted due to COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Los Angeles Master Chorale choir also provided vocals for the track. The score received positive response, with praise directed towards Howard's composition, ethnic instrumentation and orchestral sounding.
Raya and the Last Dragon (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the 2021 animated film Raya and the Last Dragon. The film score was composed by James Newton Howard, scoring a Disney animated film for the first time in 19 years since Treasure Planet (2002). The soundtrack album was released alongside the film on June 7, 2019, by Fox Music. The score received mixed critical response. A second album titled Xperiments From Dark Phoenix released in that August, containing unreleased music from the film, which garnered generally favorable response.
X-Men: First Class is the soundtrack album to the 2011 film X-Men: First Class. The film, directed by Matthew Vaughn, is based on the X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics, and is the fourth mainline installment in the X-Men film series and the fifth installment overall. Henry Jackman, who had worked with Vaughn in Kick-Ass (2010) composed the score, becoming the fourth composer to score for the series. The score consisted of pop and rock infused music, which is reminiscent of John Barry's themes from the 1960s.
Prey (Original Soundtrack) is the score album to the 2022 film of the same name directed by Dan Trachtenberg, which is the fifth instalment of the Predator franchise and a prequel to the first four films. The original score is composed by Sarah Schachner, the fourth composer to score for the franchise. Unlike the previous films, the score does not refer Alan Silvestri's themes from the first film, but featured new original themes created and curated for the film, focusing the principal character Naru (Amber Midthunder) and her emotional story and evolution. Several ancient string instruments have been used in the score, as the film is set during the 18th century America, while the score also featured Pueblo musician and flautist Robert Mirabal.

The Invisible Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the score album to the 2020 film The Invisible Man, inspired by H. G. Wells' novel of the same name. Composed by Benjamin Wallfisch, the album was released on February 21, 2020 by Back Lot Music, a week before the film's release. Wallfisch used string orchestra to compose for the film, mimicking Bernard Herrmann's technique for the score of Psycho (1960), while blending synth and electronic music. The Super Mario Bros. Movie is the soundtrack to the 2023 film of the same name, based on Nintendo's Mario video game franchise. The original score for the film is composed by Brian Tyler, who incorporated and remixed the original themes from longtime Mario composer Koji Kondo under his collaboration. According to Tyler, he wanted to "incorporate the music that I heard in that 8-bit form and along the way bring it into the world of a big epic, emotional film score." This resulted in partly original music that referenced several leitmotifs from various Mario games as well as themes from Donkey Kong.

Barbie (Score from the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the score album to the 2023 film Barbie directed by Greta Gerwig from a screenplay she wrote with Noah Baumbach, and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
