Three Six Zero is an international entertainment and music management company headquartered in Los Angeles. The company specializes in the fields of music, film, television and technology. It was founded in London in 2007.

History

The company was founded by Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson. In July 2010, Three Six Zero forged a partnership with Jay Z's U.S. entertainment company Roc Nation where they began operating in Los Angeles and New York. [1] [2] One of the first collaborations that appeared from the deal was Calvin Harris and Rihanna's multi platinum hit and 10-week-long Billboard Number 1 record, We Found Love. [3]

Roc Nation, LLC is an American entertainment company founded by Jay-Z in 2008. The company has offices in New York City, London, Nashville, Austin, and Los Angeles. The full-service entertainment company houses a record label, talent agency, touring and concert production company, music, film, and television production company as well as a music publishing house. The company is home to a diverse roster of recording artists, musicians and record producers such as J. Cole, Big Sean, Claudia Leitte, Vic Mensa, Grimes, Demi Lovato, Shakira, DJ Khaled, Omarion, T.I., and The Lox. The company also has partnerships with global management companies Three Six Zero Group, Urban Media Global Network Collective, Philymack and RJ Nation Entertainment World Wide...

In June 2014, Three Six Zero announced a publishing and records partnership with Warner Bros. Records and Warner/Chappell Music. During the time of the Warner Brothers Records deal Three Six Zero released the 5th LP of British Electronic outfit The Prodigy - The Day Is My Enemy. [4] The imprint's first signees are electronic producers GTA, Australian DJ duo Cut Snake, and singer Anabel Englund. [5] In September 2014, Gillespie announced in a Billboard article that they had begun to work with Grammy Award-winning artist Frank Ocean. [6]

Warner Bros. Records Inc. is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group and headquartered in Burbank, California. It was founded in 1958 as the recorded music division of the American film studio Warner Bros., and was one of a group of labels owned and operated by larger parent corporations for much of its existence. The sequence of companies that controlled Warner Bros. and its allied labels evolved through a convoluted series of corporate mergers and acquisitions from the early 1960s to the early 2000s. Over this period, Warner Bros. Records grew from a struggling minor player in the music industry to one of the top record labels in the world.

The Prodigy English electronic dance music group

The Prodigy are an English electronic music band from Braintree, Essex, formed in 1990 by keyboardist and songwriter Liam Howlett. The first line-up of the band also included MC and vocalist Maxim, former dancer and vocalist Keith Flint, dancer and live keyboardist Leeroy Thornhill, and dancer and vocalist Sharky. Along with the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy has been credited as pioneers of the breakbeat-influenced genre big beat, which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s.

In February 2015, the company announced the formation of Three Six Zero Entertainment — a new full-service management company aimed at representing clients in the film, television and literary industries. David A. Unger, formerly of talent agency Resolution, was named as the co-CEO of the new division, alongside Mark Gillespie. [7]

David A. Unger is CEO of Artist International Group, a talent management and content production company representing clients in the fields of film, television and technology.

Resolution is a talent and literary agency with headquarters in Los Angeles, California. It was formed by Jeff Berg, the former chairman of ICM Partners. Resolution represents artists including Lindsay Lohan, Roman Polanski, Molly Ringwald, David Duchovny, Gina Gershon, and Haley Joel Osment. As of 2014 it was one of the ten largest agencies in the United States.

In February 2016 manager Brian Young joined the group bringing clients such as Bret Easton Ellis and Nicolas Jarecki. [8] In June of that same year the company signed Travis Scott as a client. [9]

Bret Easton Ellis is an American author, screenwriter, and short story writer. His works have been translated into 27 languages. He was at first regarded as one of the so-called literary Brat Pack, which also included Tama Janowitz and Jay McInerney. He is a self-proclaimed satirist whose trademark technique, as a writer, is the expression of extreme acts and opinions in an affectless style. Ellis employs a technique of linking novels with common, recurring characters.

Travis Scott American rapper

Jacques Bermon Webster II, known professionally as Travis Scott, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. In 2012, Scott signed his first major-label deal with Epic Records. In November of the same year, Scott signed a deal with Kanye West's GOOD Music, as part of its production wing Very GOOD Beats, after appearing on the label's 2012 compilation album Cruel Summer. In April 2013, Scott signed a record deal with T.I.'s Grand Hustle imprint.

In July 2018, it was announced in a Music Business Worldwide article that the company signed Louis Tomlinson from One Direction. He was co-managed by Mark Gillespie and Matt Vines. [10]

Louis Tomlinson English pop singer

Louis William Tomlinson is an English singer, songwriter and television personality. He is known as a member of the boy band One Direction. Tomlinson began his career as an actor, appearing in ITV drama film If I Had You and the BBC drama Waterloo Road. In 2010, he became a member of One Direction after being eliminated as a solo contestant on the British music competition series The X Factor. One Direction has since released five albums, embarked on four world tours, and won several awards, becoming one of most successful musical groups of all time.

One Direction are an English-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and, until his departure from the band in 2015, Zayn Malik. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. Propelled to international success by social media, One Direction's five albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013), Four (2014), and Made in the A.M. (2015), topped charts in most major markets, and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful", "Live While We're Young", "Best Song Ever", "Story of My Life" and "Drag Me Down".

Charity

In 2012, Three Six Zero and Roc Nation launched their annual charity event to benefit Los Angeles Children’s Hospital Orthopaedic Center as a post-Grammy event. The first installment of the event was held on February 12, 2012 and featured performances from Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, Michael Woods, and Chris Lake. The February 10, 2013 event featured performances from Deadmau5, Kylie Minogue, Crookers, Timbaland + Demetrius, and DJ Reflex. [11] Both events raised over $250,000 for the charity. [12]

The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. The Grammys are the second of the Big Three major music awards held annually.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty is a Barbadian singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman. Born in Saint Michael, Barbados, and raised in Bridgetown, she was discovered by American record producer Evan Rogers in her home country in 2003. Throughout 2004, she recorded demo tapes under the direction of Rogers and signed a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for its then-president, rapper and hip hop producer Jay-Z. In 2005, Rihanna rose to fame with the release of her debut studio album Music of the Sun, as well as its follow-up A Girl like Me (2006). Both albums peaked within the top ten of the US Billboard 200 and respectively produced the successful singles "Pon de Replay", "SOS" and "Unfaithful".

Kylie Ann Minogue, also known simply as Kylie, is an Australian-British singer and actress. She achieved recognition starring in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, where she played tomboy mechanic Charlene Robinson. Appearing in the series for two years, Minogue's character married Scott Robinson in an episode viewed by nearly 20 million people in the United Kingdom, making it one of the most watched Australian TV episodes ever. Since then, Minogue has been a recording artist and has achieved commercial success and critical acclaim in the entertainment industry. Minogue has been recognised with several honorific nicknames, most notably the "Princess of Pop." She is recognised as the highest-selling Australian artist of all time by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).

In 2013, Mark Gillespie was nominated for 'Manager of the Year' at the Music Week Awards. [13] Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson have been listed on InTheMix's 'The Most Powerful People in Dance Music' for the last two years. [14] [15] And Rolling Stone listed Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson on their 2014 list of 'The 50 Most Important People in EDM'. [16]
