History
The Thunder Bay Bombers folded in 2006, after a tour of Europe and winning the 2005 Allan Cup.
In 2007-08 a new team emerged: the Thunder Bay Hawks. They dispatched the Thistles in the region final 2-games-to-none, but then fell to the MLH's Dundas Real McCoys in the Renwick Cup.
In the summer of 2008, the team rebranded itself as the Thunder Bay Twins. The Twins entered the 2008-09 playoffs against the Kenora Thistles with only a best-of-3 series standing between them and berth in the 2009 Allan Cup. The Thistles drew first blood, winning Game 1 5-4 in double-overtime. Game 2 went the Twins way with an easy 7-2 victory. Game 3 was a battle for the ages, as the Thistles dominated early and led 3-2 at the start of the third period. The Twins tied up the game late and forced overtime. In the second overtime period, the Twins scored to take the game and the series. As there will be no Renwick Cup series against Major League Hockey this year, the Twins will at the 2009 Allan Cup, their first appearance since winning the 2005 Allan Cup.
In March 2010, the Twins competed for the HNO Gary Cook Cup senior hockey championship in Kenora, Ontario. The Twins blew a 5-0 lead to tie game one 5-5 against the upstart Fort Frances Thunderhawks, a result they would later protest and would be turned into a Twins victory. In the second game, the Twins were beat soundly by their rival Kenora Thistles 5-1. Due to the protest by the Twins, Fort Frances was eliminated from the tournament and the Twins moved on to the finals. The Thistles beat the Twins again, 3-1, to win the Gary Cook Cup.
As of 2010-11 the team is on hiatus and looking for new ownership.
The Whitby Dunlops were a Canadian senior ice hockey team in the team in the Allan Cup Hockey league. The team began play in 2004, and is on a leave of absence as of the 2020–21 season.
The Kenora Thistles, officially the Thistles Hockey Club, were a Canadian ice hockey team based in Kenora, Ontario. Founded in 1894, they were originally known as the Rat Portage Thistles. The team competed for the Stanley Cup, the ice hockey championship of Canada, five times between 1903 and 1907. The Thistles won the Cup in January 1907 and defended it once before losing it that March in a challenge series. Composed almost entirely of local players, the team comes from the least populated city to have won the Stanley Cup. Nine players—four of them homegrown—have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and the Stanley Cup champion team was inducted into the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.
The Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) is a junior A ice hockey league and a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) and Hockey Canada. The league operates in the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. states of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Winners of the SIJHL playoffs compete for the Dudley Hewitt Cup against the winners of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. The winner of the Dudley Hewitt Cup then moves on to compete for the Centennial Cup, the Canadian Junior A championship.
The Lakehead Junior Hockey League is a Canadian Junior ice hockey league in Northwestern Ontario, sanctioned by Hockey Northwestern Ontario and Hockey Canada. An earlier edition of this league existed in the 1970s.

They played in the Thunder Bay Junior B Hockey League of Hockey Northwestern Ontario until 2009. The Wolverines were 4-time Thunder Bay Junior B and Northern Ontario Junior B champions, as well as 2009 Keystone Cup Western Canada silver medalists.
The Cambridge Hornets were a Senior "AAA" ice hockey team based out of Cambridge, Ontario. They played in the Ontario Hockey Association's Major League Hockey. The new Cambridge Hornets were brought into Southwestern Senior A Hockey League in 1999. They were members of the league in 2003 when it changed its name to Major League Hockey.
The Petrolia Squires are a Canadian senior ice hockey team based in Petrolia, Ontario. They play in the Western Ontario Super Hockey League and are two-time Allan Cup National Champions.
The Gordon Renwick Cup is the trophy for the Senior "AAA" Central Canada ice hockey championship. The winning of this trophy earns the champion the right to compete in the Allan Cup, the national Senior 'AAA' Championship. It is named after former Canadian Amateur Hockey Association president Gord Renwick, who had ties to senior ice hockey with the Galt Hornets.

The tournament was contended in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador from April 13 to April 18, 2015 and hosted by the Clarenville Caribous. All games were played at the Eastlink Events Centre.
