Balthazar Johannes "B. J." Vorster was a South African apartheid politician who served as the prime minister of South Africa from 1966 to 1978 and the fourth state president of South Africa from 1978 to 1979. Known as B. J. Vorster during much of his career, he came to prefer the anglicized name John in the 1970s.

After graduating from University of South Carolina, she was the 2005 USA Outdoor Champion in the 100 metres and the 2006 World Indoor Champion in the 60 metres. Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius is a South African former professional sprinter and convicted murderer. Both of his feet were amputated when he was 11 months old owing to a congenital defect; he was born missing the outside of both feet and both fibulae. Pistorius ran in both nondisabled sprint events and in sprint events for below-knee amputees. He was the 10th athlete to compete at both the Paralympic Games and Olympic Games.
Amantle Montsho is a female sprinter from Botswana who specializes in the 400 metres. She represented her country at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics, reaching the final at the latter edition. She was the first woman to represent Botswana at the Olympics. She has also competed at the World Championships in Athletics and the IAAF World Indoor Championships, and is the former World Champion over the 400m, winning in a personal best time of 49.56 in Daegu.

Vorster also qualified and competed in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. She competed in the Elite Road and Cross Country Olympic events. She finished in 8th position in the Cross Country Olympic event, the highest position by any Namibian cyclist to date.
Marcel Sylvia Winkler is a retired South African female sprinter who specialised in 100 metres and 200 metres. She won silver medals in both events at the 1992 African Championships in Mauritius, both times finishing behind compatriot Elinda Vorster. She also competed for South Africa in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona in 100 metres, without progressing to the final.

At the 2021 African Championships, she won 11 gold medals, six in individual events and five in relay events, swimming on the finals relay for each of the five relay events.
Eben Vorster is a South African swimmer. He competed in the men's 200 metre freestyle event at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships.
