Timothy Duncan Groenewald (born 10 January 1984) is an English-South African former professional cricketer. He played as a right-arm medium-fast bowler for Warwickshire,Derbyshire,Somerset and Kent County Cricket Clubs before retiring during the 2021 season. He was born in Pietermaritzburg,South Africa but holds a British passport through his mother and,as a result,played as a domestic player in county cricket. [1]
Groenewald first played for Warwickshire's Second XI in the 2004 season,as a 20-year-old. After one further season as a Second XI bowler,including a run to the semi-final of the Second XI Trophy of 2005,Groenewald made his County Championship debut in April 2006,taking two wickets. He continued to play for the first team on a semi-regular basis,and was part of the Warwickshire team which played host to the touring West Indies A team in July 2006. [2] Groenewald was part of the Warwickshire team which won the Second XI Trophy in the 2006 season. He signed for Derbyshire in October 2008 after his Warwickshire contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
He enjoyed a good first season with Derbyshire in 2009,taking 34 first-class wickets and was rewarded with a new contract which was to see him through to the end of the 2010 season. [3]
In June 2014,Somerset announced the signing of Groenewald on loan for the remainder of the season,at the end of which he signed a three-year permanent contract. [4]
In September 2019 Groenewald signed a two-year contract with Kent. [5] He played in nine matches during the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season,taking seven wickets,but retired in July 2021 after failing to recover quickly enough following surgery on his knee in April. He stayed with Kent as a coach for the remainder of their 2021 season. [6] [7]
Timothy Alan Munton is an English cricketer. He had a long career in county cricket,playing over 500 games combined between first-class and List A,primarily with Warwickshire before ending his career at Derbyshire. He also played two Test matches for England in the 1992 series against Pakistan,and went on a number of England A tours. A medium pace bowler and lower order batsman,cricket writer Colin Bateman stated,"at 6ft 6in,with an ability to make the ball swing,Munton is at his best in English conditions". His time at Warwickshire was a particularly successful one for the club,winning 6 trophies between 1993 and 1995;as a crucial part of that side,Munton was honoured as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1995.
Rikki Clarke is a retired English cricketer,who last played for Surrey. He was educated at Broadwater School and then Godalming College. Clarke began his career as a professional cricketer with Surrey in 2000,making his list A debut in 2001 and First Class debut in 2002,and the following year made his One Day International debut for England;later in 2003 he played his first Test match. Between 2003 and 2006 he played two Tests,both against Bangladesh and 20 ODIs.
Joseph Liam Denly is an English professional cricketer who plays for Kent County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batsman and occasional leg break bowler who plays as a top-order batsman. Denly played age group cricket for Kent and began his professional career with the county before moving to Middlesex for three seasons between 2012 and 2014. He won the Professional Cricketers' Association Player of the Year award in 2018 and was named the season's Most Valuable Player.
Philip Steffan Jones is a former professional cricketer who played for Somerset,Northamptonshire,Derbyshire and Kent County Cricket Clubs. He was a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. He is now a teacher and occasionally a bowling coach.
Steven Kirby is an English retired first-class cricketer,and more recently a cricket coach. Kirby played for Yorkshire,Gloucestershire and Somerset,before retiring from playing in 2014. In 2020,he rejoined Somerset as their bowling coach.

Matthew Thomas Coles is an English former professional cricketer. He played as a bowling all-rounder who bowled right-arm fast-medium pace and batted left-handed. Liam Connor Norwell is an English cricketer who currently plays for Warwickshire. A right-handed batsman and right-hand medium pace bowler he made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire against Derbyshire in April 2011. Norwell signed a new two-year contract for Gloucestershire in 2013.
Matthew James Henry is a New Zealand professional cricketer who plays for Canterbury,and for the New Zealand national team. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler. Henry was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship.
GC Viljoen,known as Hardus Viljoen,is a South African professional cricketer. Viljoen played for Lions in domestic cricket and made one Test match appearance for the South Africa national team. He is a right-arm fast bowler.
Harry William Podmore is an English professional cricketer who plays for Glamorgan County Cricket Club. A right-arm medium-fast bowler who bats right-handed,he played youth cricket for Middlesex and made his debut for the county in 2014 before spending time on loan with Glamorgan,Durham and Derbyshire over the next two seasons. Charles Frederick Hartley,known as Charlie Hartley,is an English former professional cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club. He is a right-arm swing bowler who bats right-handed. He made his First-class cricket debut for Kent against Leicestershire in July 2014.
Sean Robert Dickson is an English-South African cricketer who plays as a right-handed top-order batter. Dickson was born in Johannesburg and made his first-class debut in South Africa before signing for Kent in July 2015,qualifying as a non-overseas player due to his British mother and UK passport. Dickson scored 318 for Kent in July 2017,the county's second highest individual score and making him one of only two men to have made a triple-century for Kent.
Imran Qayyum is an English former professional cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club. A slow left arm bowler,he made his first-class cricket debut in May 2016 against Northamptonshire in the 2016 County Championship and has gone on to play in limited overs competitions for the county. In May 2021,he was forced to retire from the game due to a shoulder injury.
In 2018,Kent County Cricket Club competed in Division Two of the County Championship,the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2018 t20 Blast. The county finished second in Division Two of the Championship and were promoted to Division One for the 2019 season. They reached the final of the One-Day Cup. losing to Hampshire at Lord's,and the quarter-final stage of the t20 Blast. In addition,before the start of the English cricket season,Kent competed in the 2017–18 Regional Super50,the List A competition of the West Indies domestic season,reaching the semi-final stage. This was the second time that Kent have competed in the competition,having played in the 2016–17 competition.
Matthew Edward Milnes is an English professional cricketer who currently plays for Yorkshire County Cricket Club,having moved from Kent at the end of the 2018 season. Milnes was born in Nottingham and grew up in the city and attended West Bridgford School in the city before going to Durham University. A seam bowler,he was part of the Nottinghamshire Academy programme before making his first-class cricket debut in April 2014 for Durham MCC University against Derbyshire. He received a Half-Palatinate for his cricketing activities at university.

In 2020 Kent County Cricket Club were scheduled to compete in Division One of the County Championship,the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2020 t20 Blast. However,the season was heavily disrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic,with no county cricket fixtures played until August. For the shortened season,the majority of counties voted on 7 July to play first-class and Twenty20 cricket,with the Royal London One-Day Cup being cancelled.
