Tim McCarty is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City. McCarty served two stints as the head football coach at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, from 2004 to 2005 and 2009 to 2017. [1] From 1999 to 2003, he was the head football coach at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. His two tenures at East Central were separated by a three-year stint at the assistant head football coach at Kansas State University.
McCarty prepped at Concordia Junior-Senior High School in Concordia, Kansas and is a 1985 graduate of Fort Hays State University. He was a defensive lineman and served as a team captain for the 1983 squad that produced an 8–3 record. McCarty earned a master's of education in administration from Middle Tennessee State University in 1994. [2]
McCarty, a native Kansan, became Kansas State assistant coach on December 8, 2005 and was among head coach Ron Prince's first hires at Kansas State. [3] He held that position from 2006 until 2008.
McCarty came to Kansas State after a two-year stint as the head coach at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. While at East Central, McCarty guided the Tigers to a 9–11 record, including a 6–4 finish in his first season in 2004 after being picked to finish last in the Lone Star Conference’s North Division that year.
Prior to East Central, McCarty coached Tabor College to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) power from the ground up. In his first season at Tabor in 1999, the Bluejays had just 14 players in the program and struggled through a 0–10 campaign. McCarty guided Tabor to a 3–7 record in 2000, a 5–5 mark in 2001, a 6–4 ledger in 2002 and ultimately a 9–2 record in 2003 that saw the Bluejays achieve a No. 15 national ranking and the program's first berth in the NAIA playoffs.
McCarty is married to the former Jillian Bailey of Brentwood, Tennessee. The couple have two daughters.

Tabor College is a private Mennonite liberal arts college in Hillsboro, Kansas, United States. Tabor is currently owned and operated by the Mennonite Brethren Church and adheres to Anabaptist doctrine. There were 594 students enrolled at the Tabor College Hillsboro campus for the Fall 2014 semester. Total enrollment, including the Tabor College School of Adult and Graduate Studies in Wichita was 766.
Gary Brent Darnell is a former American football player and coach at the college level. Darnell is native of Arkansas and an alumnus of Oklahoma State University, where he played college football. A long-time defensive coordinator, Darnell was also previously the head coach at Western Michigan University and Tennessee Technological University, as well as the interim head coach at the University of Florida and Texas A&M University.
Greg McDermott is an American basketball coach who has been the head coach of the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team since 2010. Previously, McDermott served as the head coach at Wayne State College, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, and Iowa State. He is the father of NBA player Doug McDermott.
Vince Gibson was an American football player and coach. He served as head football coach at Kansas State University (1967–1974), the University of Louisville (1975–1979), and Tulane University (1980–1982), compiling a career college football record of 75–98–2. In 1992, he coached the New Orleans Night of the Arena Football League, tallying a mark of 0–10.
Todd Arlan Lickliter is the former head coach of the Evansville Purple Aces men's basketball team of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). He was previously the head coach of Marian University, the University of Iowa, and Butler University men's basketball teams. He spent the 2011–12 season as an assistant coach at Miami (Ohio).
Michael Norman Gardner is currently the football coach at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. Having left Tabor for Malone in 2006, Gardner was chosen to replace Mike Gottsch after Tabor's winless 2009 season. Gardner's teams achieved post-season play for his first five years as a head coach at the college level—the first two years qualifying for the NAIA playoffs and the next three years to the Victory Bowl.
Robert Rubel is an American football coach. He is the head football coach at Robinson High School in Robinson, Texas, a position he has held since 2020. Rubel served as the head football coach at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas for one season, in 2006. Rubel had interviewed for the head position at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, considered to be one of the more prestigious coaching opportunities in NCAA Division II and was asked by the Tabor administration not to return. In his one season as head coach, the team accomplished a record of 6–4. Rubel was only the second coach in school history to have a winning record in his first season.
Ken Crandall is an American football coach and former player. He was most recently the head football coach for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in Winfield, Kansas and was the 28th person to hold that position. Prior to accepting this position, he was the head coach for nine years at the University of Minnesota Morris. Crandall had been a graduate assistant coach at Pittsburg State University during the Gorillas' national championship run in 1991. In addition, he was assistant coach at Norwich University and at the Maine Maritime Academy. Crandall resigned the position at Southwestern on November 19, 2014.
Garin Higgins is an American football college coach and former player. Higgins is the head football coach at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, a position he has held since the 2007 season. Higgins previously served as the head football coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 2000 to 2004. His Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers finished as runners-up in the NAIA Football National Championship in 2000 and 2003. Higgins worked as co-offensive coordinator at Minnesota State University, Mankato and offensive coordinator at Northeastern State University in 2006.
The Rogers State University Hillcats are the athletic teams that represent Rogers State University. Their mascot, a fictional animal based on a bobcat and named for the hill that the school sits upon, was chosen in 2005 by a group of students. The Northern State Wolves are the athletic teams that represent Northern State University, located in Aberdeen, South Dakota, U.S., in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Wolves compete as members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for all 13 varsity sports. Northern State has been a member of the conference since 1978, and they also have the second-smallest enrollment of the 14 member schools. Kenneth Franklin Trickey Sr. was an American basketball coach, best known for his two stints as the head coach for the men's basketball team at Oral Roberts University (ORU) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was especially remembered for ORU's high-scoring "run and gun" teams of the early 1970s, which helped the young, small school attain national attention and competitive success, including a spot in the Elite Eight in the 1974 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. After his death in 2012, the Tulsa World called him "one of the most influential and colorful characters in this state’s basketball history".
Andy Lambert is an American football coach. He is the head football coch at Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois. Lambertserved as the head football coach at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois from 1997 to 2003, Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas from 2004 to 2015, and Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma from 2016 to 2019.
The Texas A&M–Commerce Lions men's basketball team is the men's intercollegiate basketball program representing Texas A&M University–Commerce. The school competes in the Southland Conference (SLC) in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). For their first 91 years of existence, they competed in the Lone Star Conference of Division II. The Lions were members of the NAIB from 1931 to 1940, the NAIA from 1940 to 1982, and joined the NCAA for the 82–83 season. The A&M–Commerce men's basketball team plays its home games at the University Field House on the university campus in Commerce, Texas. The Lions have won one NAIA National Championship during the 1954–55 season, 21 Lone Star Conference Championships, and have made National Playoff tournaments 19 times, 11 as a member of the NAIA and 8 as a member of the NCAA Division II since joining DII in 1982. The team is currently coached by Jaret Von Rosenberg.
