Titans of Tech Awards established in 2004 is a Nigerian award organized by Tech TV Global Network. . The award is designed to showcase Nigeria's ICT industry, celebrating the exceptional achievements of pioneers, innovators, big thinkers and organisations who are at the forefront of pushing technology adoption and usage in Nigeria. Some notable organizations that are recipients of the award includes Itel, Nigerian Communications Commission, Covenant University, Parallex Bank, MTN, Zoho, Alpha Technologies, Zinox Technologies and notable individuals includes; Governor Godwin Obaseki, Engr. Ernest Ndukwe, Leo Stan Ekeh, Former deputy governor Femi Pedro and Mike Adenuga. [3] [2]

History

The Titans of tech awards was launched in 2004 by Don Pedro Aganbi, Lead Consultant at Tech TV. [4]

The 2022 event was chaired by chairman, MTN Nigeria, Engr. Ernest Ndukwe, Itel emerged most Innovative tech brand of the year [5] [6]

The 2023 Titans of Tech Awards ceremony was Chaired by former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro, the Chairman of Globacom Limited and the Mike Adenuga was conferred with Africa Telecoms Hero Award and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's basic education reform program, EkoExcel was awarded Most Innovative Digital Learning Platform of the Year and Parallex Bank was also awarded the most innovative digital financial solutions provider of the year 2023 [7] [8] [9]

The 20th edition was held in July 2024 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.  Lifetime Achievement Awards were handed to Engr. Ernest Ndukwe, Chairman of MTN Nigeria, Col. Aiyegbeni Peters, Chairman of Alpha Technologies; Austin Okere, Founder of CWG; Chris Uwaje, CEO of Mobile Software Solutions; Femi Pedro, former managing director of First Atlantic Bank and ex-Deputy Governor of Lagos State. Nigerian communications commission emerged as the Pan African Telecommunication Regulator of the Year, while MTN clinched the Best Telecom Company of the Decade Award. Some other notable winners included Digital Realty, itel, NetAccess, Hyperspace Technologies, ALX, Techpoint Global Services, ipNX, NewGlobe, One Data, Zoracom, Covenant University and Ekoexcel [11] [12] [13] [14] [15]

Licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission in 2006 - the company in 2014, 2018, and 2022, added more kilometers to its existing coverage area with footprint expansion of its backbone, enterprise network, and broadband services. Phase operates 6,000 kilometres (3,700 mi) and counting open-access aerial fiber-optic network. The company, for over two decades has been vital to growth in Africa's growing ICT market, implementing the Wire Nigeria Project—conceived by the Nigerian Communications Commission to help provide broadband communications access to rural communities. Phase 3 has a broad range of wholesale and enterprise clients including Glo, MTN, 9Mobile, Ntel, Airtel, Smile Communications, World Bank, Julius Berger, Unity Bank, etc. Some of the African countries where the company currently has partner operations include Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and the Republic of Niger.

Stanley Jegede is a Nigerian entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist. He is considered one of the individuals who transformed the Nigerian telecommunications space, in almost two decades. He co-founded Phase3 Telecom, a firm licensed as National Long Distance Operator (NLDO) by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in 2003. And he was instrumental in building the company from a local firm to one of West Africa's prominent digital infrastructure and, connectivity networks with an optic-fiber over power lines model. Femi Bakre joined Parallex Bank in 2021 as the pioneer MD / CEO, taking up office immediately the Bank transitioned from a microfinance to a Commercial Bank.

RtBrick is a software company that specializes in providing routing operating systems for telcos and Internet Service Providers (ISPs), to build networks on open switch hardware. RtBrick supplies its software to work on open switch hardware in disaggregated networks, as defined by the Telecom Infra Project, specifically its Open Optical & Packet Transport working group.
