Sextus Julius Frontinus was a prominent Roman civil engineer,author,soldier and senator of the late 1st century AD. He was a successful general under Domitian,commanding forces in Roman Britain,and on the Rhine and Danube frontiers. A novus homo,he was consul three times. Frontinus ably discharged several important administrative duties for Nerva and Trajan. However,he is best known to the post-Classical world as an author of technical treatises,especially De aquaeductu,dealing with the aqueducts of Rome.
Lucius Neratius Marcellus was an imperial Roman military officer and senator who held a number of posts in the Emperor's service. Marcellus was elected consul twice,first under Domitian in 95 AD and again under Hadrian in 129. His life provides several examples of how patronage operated in early Imperial Rome.

Bruttius’life and career left few coherent traces in the literary record,but a number of inscriptions,including his complete cursus honorum,fills out the picture considerably.

Tiberius Catius Caesius Fronto was a Roman senator who was suffect consul in the nundinium of September to December 96 AD with Marcus Calpurnius [...]icus as his colleague. These two consuls were presiding over the Roman Senate when the Emperor Domitian was assassinated,and Nerva elevated as emperor. Fronto was an acquaintance of Pliny the Younger,and he is mentioned as many as four times in the collected letters.

He was suffect consul in an uncertain year,most likely 72 or 73,as the colleague of Lucius Cornelius Pusio Annius Messalla. Shortly after his ascension to the imperial throne,Domitian appointed Pegasus urban prefect,one of the most prestigious offices in a senatorial career.
Gnaeus Pedanius Fuscus Salinator was a Roman senator and lawyer. He served as ordinary consul for the year 118 AD as the colleague of the Emperor Hadrian. Salinator was a member of the circle of friends and peers around Pliny the Younger.
Plautia was a Roman woman of senatorial rank whom Classical scholars believe lived in the late first century and early second century AD,but about whom no direct evidence of her existence has yet been found. Ronald Syme comments about her situation,"Plautia exemplifies a common phenomenon in the history of Imperial Rome;a fragment of knowledge rescued from the waters of oblivion,but a figure of consequence in the social and political history of the time."
