Afrikaans is a West Germanic language spoken in South Africa, Namibia, and, to a lesser extent, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It evolved from the Dutch vernacular of Holland spoken by the European settlers and their slaves in South Africa, where it gradually began to develop distinguishing characteristics in the course of the 18th century. It is considered by most linguists to be partially, rather than fully, a creole language. Afrikaans linguistics researchers maintain that Afrikaans, originally being a peasant language, is only partially creole.

Jamestown, also known as Webersvallei, is a quiet rural settlement on the southern outskirts of Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands District of the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is situated next to Blaauwklippen Vineyards, on the eastern side of route R44 from Stellenbosch to Somerset West and the Strand coastal resort. The main access from the R44 is via Webersvallei Road, the main road in Jamestown with watererven – long, narrow agricultural plots on the south bank of Blouklip River – on the north side of the road and residential plots on the south side of the road.
Dalen Lance Jooste(Pronounced "Day-lyn") is a South African television host based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was the host of the reality TV dance competition Step Up or Step Out for two seasons and a host of the early-morning TV show Dagbreek on DSTV's Kyknet channel. Lance has also performed as a presenter on television shows such as High School Musical, Spotlight South Africa, 20-Something, Pap Idols, and Bling. He released his debut album in 2006, titled Be Your Man, along with a single of the same name. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Financial Accounting at the University of Cape Town in 2004 and a Master of Business Leadership degree in 2014 through the University of South Africa (Unisa) Graduate School of Business Leadership.
Eden is a South African pop band. Originally made up of Jay, Paulo, Johan and Sean, the band debuted during the popular South African Aardklop Festival followed by a tour all over South Africa releasing their album In in 1997. After Sean Else left in 2006, the boy band continued as a trio. Since 2003, the band has released three more albums, Point of No Return (2003), Eden (2006) and Knieë Lam (2008), a live DVD Live at The Mardi Gras (2008) and a compilation album Dekade (2009). They are signed to Coleske Artists.
