Todd graduated from GMI Engineering & Management Institute in 1993 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for 10 years in the Detroit area as an automotive engineer, designing safety components for cars and light trucks.
In 2002, Todd became founder and publisher of the car magazine, Speed, Style, & Sound. In 2004, Todd became founder and publisher of the custom sportbike magazine, 2Wheel Tuner. He sold his publishing company in 2007. [2] [3]

Todd began racing go-karts at the age of ten. He graduated from the Skip Barber Racing School in 1996.
Todd won the national championship in Spec Miata with OPM Autosports. [4]
Todd won the 25 Hours of Thunderhill with BiggsB Racing. [5]

Todd won the American Road Race of Champions at Road Atlanta with East Street Auto.

Competing in the Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup series, Todd set series records for number of poles (7), wins (8), and consecutive poles (5) on the way to winning the championship with Atlanta Motorsports Group. [6]
As part of the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development Ladder, Todd is competing in the Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge under Grand American Road Racing Association sanction. [7]
For the 2010 Rolex Sports Car Series season Todd is driving the Racers Edge Motorsports Mazda RX-8 in Rolex GT along with Jordan Taylor. [8]

Mazdaspeed was Mazda's in-house performance division. The company was a grassroots racing team in Japan. Owned by Mazda Motor Corporation, they built production model vehicles, became involved in motorsports development, and offered performance parts and accessories.
Grand-Am Road Racing or Grand-Am was an auto racing sanctioning body that was established in 1999 to organize road racing competitions in North America. Its primary focus was the Rolex Sports Car Series, an endurance racing championship series. It sanctioned five auto racing series. The series announced in September 2012 that it would be merging with the American Le Mans Series, which had been Grand-Am's main US competitor since its inception. Road Atlanta is a 2.540 mi (4.088 km) road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, United States. The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is an annual event held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. Its purpose is to provide an event in which historic racecars can compete. It takes place over the course of one weekend every mid-August. It was first established by Steve Earle in 1974 as the Monterey Historic Automobile Races. Earle organized the meeting for his friends to race their cars at Laguna Seca. The event acts as a part of Monterey Car Week, which includes the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and other events.

The 2012 Rolex 24 at Daytona was a long-distance motor race for sports cars conforming to the regulations of the Grand-Am Road Racing series. The race was held over a duration of 24 hours, starting at 3:30pm on Saturday, January 28, finishing at 3:30pm the following day. The race was held on the sports car version of Daytona International Speedway, which includes only a portion of the NASCAR Superspeedway course and a loop of circuit which winds through the infield of the speedway.
