Todd graduated from GMI Engineering & Management Institute in 1993 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for 10 years in the Detroit area as an automotive engineer, designing safety components for cars and light trucks.
In 2002, Todd became founder and publisher of the car magazine, Speed, Style, & Sound. In 2004, Todd became founder and publisher of the custom sportbike magazine 2Wheel Tuner. He sold his publishing company in 2007. [2] [3]

Todd began racing go-karts at the age of ten[ when? ], and later in 1996, he graduated from Skip Barber Racing School.[ citation needed ] In 2007, Todd won the national championship in Spec Miata with OPM Autosports [4] and the 25 Hours of Thunderhill with BiggsB Racing. [5] In 2008, Todd won the national championship in Spec Miata with SafeRacer, [4] the American Road Race of Champions at Road Atlanta with East Street Auto,[ citation needed ] and the 13 Hours at Virginia International Raceway with OPM Autosports.[ citation needed ] In 2009, competing in the Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup series, Todd set series records for number of poles (7), wins (8), and consecutive poles (5) on the way to winning the championship with Atlanta Motorsports Group. [6] In 2010, as part of the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development Ladder, Todd competed in the Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge under Grand American Road Racing Association sanction, [7] drove the Racers Edge Motorsports Mazda RX-8 in Roxel GT with Jordan Taylor during the 2010 Rolex Sports Car Series season, [8] and drove the i-MOTO MAZDASPEED3 in ST with Glenn Bocchino during the 2010 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season. Laguna Seca Raceway is a paved road racing track in central California used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, built in 1957 near both Salinas and Monterey, California, United States.
The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) is a North American sports car racing sanctioning body based in Daytona Beach, Florida, under the jurisdiction of the ACCUS arm of the FIA. It was started by John Bishop, a former executive director of SCCA, and his wife Peggy in 1969 with help from Bill France Sr. of NASCAR. Beginning in 2014, IMSA is the sanctioning body of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the premier series resulting from the merger of Grand-Am Road Racing and the American Le Mans Series. IMSA is owned by NASCAR, as a division of the company.
Grand-Am Road Racing or Grand-Am was an auto racing sanctioning body that was established in 1999 to organize road racing competitions in North America. Its primary focus was the Rolex Sports Car Series, an endurance racing championship series. It sanctioned five auto racing series. The series announced in September 2012 that it would be merging with the American Le Mans Series, which had been Grand-Am's main US competitor since its inception. Road Atlanta is a 2.540 mi (4.088 km) road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, United States. The facility is utilized for a wide variety of events, including professional and amateur sports car and motorcycle races, racing and driving schools, corporate programs and testing for motorsports teams. The track has 12 turns, including the famous "esses" between turns three and five; and Turn 12, a downhill, diving turn. The track is owned by IMSA Holdings, LLC through its subsidiary Road Atlanta, LLC, and is the home to the Petit Le Mans, as well as AMA motorcycle racing, and smaller events throughout the year. Michelin acquired naming rights to the facility in 2018.

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is an annual event held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. Its purpose is to provide an event in which historic racecars can compete. It takes place over the course of one weekend every mid-August. It was first established by Steve Earle in 1974 as the Monterey Historic Automobile Races. Earle organized the meeting for his friends to race their cars at Laguna Seca. The event, known as the Monterey Historics until 2010, acts as a part of Monterey Car Week, which includes the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and other events.
New Jersey Motorsports Park is a road course "Motorsports Entertainment Complex" located in Millville, Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States. It has hosted races since opening in 2008 and currently hosts a schedule including MotoAmerica Pro Road Racing, 24 Hours of LeMons, American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association, SCCA events, SCCA Pro Racing's F2000 Championship Series.
Autobahn Country Club is an auto racing road course located in Joliet, Illinois, operated as a country club, while also hosting many outside events. Autobahn was the first purpose-built motorsports country club in the United States, and has inspired several others. The club has a sanctioning body called Autobahn Member Racing, which hosts series for Spec Miatas, GT cars, karts, Radical Sportscars, a discipline called Chase Racing similar to bracket racing, open wheel cars, as well as competitions for rallycross and autocross. As of the 2023 race season, the club requires a $45,000 membership initiation fee. Annual dues is $6100. Membership includes unlimited access to the tracks six days a week in season, use of the Member Clubhouse, which contains a bar and 40,000 sq. ft. event space. Members can purchase land to build garages and personal condos. A Social/Karting Membership is $5900 and includes all Member Social Events and unlimited access to the go-kart track at Kart Circuit Autobahn, during member hours. Notable members include legendary racers Bobby Rahal, Graham Rahal, David Heinemeier Hansson, Cooper MacNeil, Jay Howard, Peter Dempsey, and Tom Bagley. Many members use the club to drive their exotic and classic cars.
