Thomas Murphy, commonly known as Tom Murphy, was an Irish footballer who played as a defender and made two appearances for the Irish Free State national team.
Murphy was included in the Irish Free State squad for the 1924 Summer Olympic football tournament in Paris. [2] Though he did not feature in the Olympics, [3] he made two appearances for the team in friendly matches after Ireland's elimination from the tournament. The first match took place on 3 June 1924 against Estonia [4] in Colombes, while the second took place in Dublin on 14 June against the United States. Both matches finished as 3–1 wins for Ireland. Jack McCarthy was an Irish footballer who played for Bohemians in the League of Ireland during the 1920s and 1930s. As an international McCarthy also represented both Ireland teams. He played as a senior for the FAI XI and as an amateur for the IFA XI. He remained an amateur player throughout his career.
Charles Dowdall was an Irish footballer. He played for several clubs in both the League of Ireland and the English League and was also capped at international level by Ireland. He was born in Dublin.
Eduard Eelma until 1937 Eduard-Vilhelm Ellmann, was an Estonian footballer — one of the most famous before World War II. He played 60 times for Estonia national football team and with 21 goals, was their record goalscorer during the country's first period of independence.
Denis J. Hannon, also known as Dinny Hannon or Dinney Hannon, was an Irish footballer who played as an inside-right for both Bohemians and Athlone Town. Born in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland, Hannon was also a dual international and played for both Ireland teams – the IFA XI and the FAI XI. He was the first player ever to do this. In 1913 he was a member of the first ever IFA XI to beat England and in 1924 he represented the Irish Free State at the Paris Olympics.
