Thomas Lawrence Sansonetti (born May 18,1949),is an attorney and a former government official from the U.S. state of Wyoming.He now resides in Greenwood Village,a suburb of Denver,Colorado.
After graduation from high school,he earned an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington,Virginia. From 1983 to 1987,Sansonetti served as Chair of the Wyoming Republican Party.In 1989,he became legislative director for newly elected U.S. Representative Craig L. Thomas,and shortly afterwards was chosen to be his chief of staff. In 1991,he became Solicitor of the U.S. Department of the Interior,where he served until 1993. He then joined the Cheyenne law firm of Holland and Hart,where he worked until being appointed Assistant U.S. Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the Justice Department. He is considered to be a strong conservative but has never held elective office.
Sansonetti received the most votes from the GOP central committee to succeed his former mentor,Senator Thomas,who died on June 4,2007. He advanced as one of the state GOP's three party nominees for senator. Governor Dave Freudenthal appointed State Senator John Barrasso,an orthopedic surgeon from Casper.
Michael Bradley Enzi was an American politician who served in the United States Senate from Wyoming as a member of the Republican Party from 1997 to 2021. Prior to his tenure in the United States Senate he served as mayor of Gillette,Wyoming,in the Wyoming House of Representatives from Campbell County,and the Wyoming Senate from the 24th district. He was the longest-serving senator from Wyoming since Francis E. Warren.
Craig Lyle Thomas was an American politician who served as United States Senator from Wyoming from 1995 until his death in 2007. He was a member of the Republican Party. In the Senate,Thomas was considered an expert on agriculture and rural development. He had served in key positions in several state agencies,including a long tenure as Vice President of the Wyoming Farm Bureau from 1965 to 1974. Thomas resided in Casper for twenty-eight years. In 1984,he was elected from Casper to the Wyoming House of Representatives,in which he served until 1989.

Cynthia Marie Lummis Wiederspahn is an American attorney and politician serving as the junior United States senator from Wyoming since 2021. A member of the Republican Party,Lummis served as the U.S representative for Wyoming's at-large congressional district from 2009 to 2017. She served in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1979 to 1983 and from 1985 to 1993,in the Wyoming Senate from 1993 to 1995,and as the Wyoming State Treasurer from 1999 to 2007.
John Anthony Barrasso III is an American physician and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Wyoming,a seat he has held since 2007. A member of the Republican Party,he served in the Wyoming State Senate from 2003 to 2007.
