Tony Archer is an Australian former rugby league referee. He presided over 319 National Rugby League games as referee between 1999 and 2012 as well as being the referee of 13 State of Origin matches and 9 International matches, including at the 2008 World Cup. He was the former National Rugby League referee's elite performance manager.
Archer made his first grade debut controlling a Western Suburbs Magpies v Canterbury Bulldogs match at Campbelltown on 24 July 1999.
Since then he has refereed the NRL Grand Final in 2007 2009 & 2010, at the 2008 World Cup, 2010 Four Nations and also controlled the 2010 All Stars match.
Archer was named international referee of the year in 2007 and 2008. [3] On 3 November 2011 The annual RLIF Awards dinner was held at the Tower of London and Archer was named referee of the year. [4]
He retired at the end of the 2012 NRL season to take up a coaching role. In late 2013 he was appointed the interim referee's elite performance manager by the National Rugby League. [5] Before the 2014 season, the National Rugby League appointed him to the full-time role. [6]
His part-time job was as a Police prosecutor with the New South Wales Police Force. [7]
The National Rugby League (NRL) is Australia's top-level domestic men's rugby league club competition. It contains clubs from the original Sydney club Rugby League competition, which had been running continuously since 1908. The NRL formed in the aftermath of the 1990s' Super League war as a joint partnership between the Australian governing body, the Australian Rugby League (ARL) and media giant News Corporation-controlled Super League, after both organisations ran premierships parallel to each other in 1997. Samuel Arthur Thaiday is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League, serving as their captain from 2012 until 2013. An Australian international and Queensland State of Origin representative second-row, he can also play prop and lock as well as Hooker and has spent all of his career at the Broncos, with whom he won the 2006 premiership. In 2008, Australia's centenary of rugby league and Thaiday's sixth year at the top level, he was one of only three current players to be named in the Indigenous Australian rugby league team of the century. On 6 July 2018, Thaiday announced his intention to retire from the NRL at the end of the 2018 season.
Daniel Stewart Anderson is an Australian professional rugby league coach. Anderson previously coached the New Zealand Warriors and the Parramatta Eels in the NRL and St. Helens in the Super League. He has also coached New Zealand and the Exiles at representative level.
Feleti Sosefo Mateo is a Tonga international rugby league footballer. He has played a variety of positions from lock, second-row and five-eighth. Mateo was also selected to represent NSW City Origin and the NRL All Stars. He last played for English club Salford Red Devils of Super League. Before that he played for Sydney club the Parramatta Eels in 2004 and then between 2007 and 2010, the London Broncos in 2005, the New Zealand Warriors between 2011 and 2014, the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in 2015 and 2016 and the Salford Red Devils in 2016. Mateo is renowned for his versatility and extravagant style of play.
Petero Civoniceva, is an Fijian-Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. A Queensland State of Origin and Australian international representative prop forward, in 2009 he broke the record for most international matches for Australia of any forward in history. Civoniceva played his club football for the Brisbane Broncos, with whom he won the 1998, 2000 and 2006 NRL Premierships, as well as for the Penrith Panthers, whom he captained. Late in his career whilst playing for the Redcliffe Dolphins in the Queensland Cup, Civoniceva captained the Fiji national team in their 2013 Rugby League World Cup campaign. The Petero Civoniceva Medal is awarded to the Australian Fijian rugby league footballer of the year, while the Civoniceva Medal is awarded to the Queensland Cup player voted as the best and fairest.
The RLIF Awards are the Rugby League International Federation's annual major international sporting award for rugby league. Since 2004 the awards ceremony recognises the best referee, coach, developing nations player, international newcomer, captain and a team of the year.

The Solomon Islands national rugby league team represents Solomon Islands in the sport of rugby league football. They are, in fact, planning a top-level tournament in 2010–11, after the capital of Honiara hosts an inter-city exhibition league, the Honiara Rugby League; expected in August 2009 but now it seems early 2010 will be the most convenient point for when it will be held after an uphold in the delivery of the participating teams jerseys caused delays. Matt Cecchin is an Australian rugby league referee in the National Rugby League (NRL) since 2001. Cecchin has officiated international matches at the 2011 Four Nations and 2017 World Cup, and domestic representative matches in all three games of the 2017 State of Origin series.
The NRL Women's Premiership (NRLW) is Australia's national rugby league competition for female players. The first season of the league began in September 2018 with four teams.
