Antonio Javier Pujol [1] (born July 20, 1967) is an American college basketball coach, and the current head coach of the North Alabama Lions men's basketball team. [2]
Pujol played both basketball and baseball at Sterling College in Kansas, where he earned all-conference honors in baseball three-straight seasons. [2]
Pujol's coaching career began in 1992 when he became the head boys basketball coach at La Progresiva Presbyterian HS in Miami, Florida. [3] In 1995, Pujol accepted the head boys basketball coaching position at Northwest Christian Academy in Miami, where he stayed for 13 seasons and posted a 250-46 record, while winning state titles in 1999, 2003 and 2004. [2] Pujol broke through in the college ranks as an assistant coach at Appalachian State in 2004 under Houston Fancher. He stayed for two seasons before joining Anthony Grant's staff at VCU from 2006 to 2009 where he was part of three Colonial Athletic Association regular season title squads and two CAA conference tournament title winners, including an upset win over Duke in the 2007 NCAA tournament.
After the 2009 season, Pujol followed Grant to join his staff at Alabama, where he stayed until 2014, as he took a year and a half off from coaching. [3] [2] Pujol returned to coaching in 2016, joining the staff at Wyoming under Allen Edwards. [4]
On April 2, 2018 Pujol was named the seventh head coach in North Alabama history, and became the Lions' first head coach in the Division I era as the school transitions to the ASUN Conference starting in 2018. [5] [2]

Bradley William Soderberg is a men's college basketball coach. He is currently the Director of Scouting for the University of Virginia Cavaliers. Soderberg was previously head coach at Lindenwood, St. Louis, South Dakota State, Loras College, and was the interim head coach at Wisconsin.
Robert Hue Wallace is an American former college football coach and athletics administrator. He served as head football coach at the University of North Alabama at 1988 to 1997 and again from 2012 to 2016, at Temple University from 1998 to 2005, and at the University of West Alabama from 2006 to 2010. Wallace led the North Alabama Lions to three consecutive NCAA Division II Football Championships, from 1993 to 1995. He was also the athletic director at West Alabama from 2018 to 2021.
Charles Martin Newton was an American collegiate basketball player, coach, and athletics administrator. He served as the head men's basketball coach at Transylvania University from 1956 to 1968, the University of Alabama from 1968 to 1980, and Vanderbilt University from 1981 to 1989, compiling a career college basketball coaching record of 509–375. He was chairman of the NCAA Rules committee from 1979 to 1985 and was the president of USA Basketball from 1992 to 1996.
Heath Martin Schroyer is an American college basketball coach, currently the athletic director at McNeese State University, where he was head coach of the men's basketball team from 2018 until 2021. He has had previous head coaching stops at Portland State University (2002–05), University of Wyoming (2007–11) and University of Tennessee-Martin (2014–16).
The North Alabama Lions men's basketball team represents University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama, United States. The school's team currently competes in the ASUN Conference. On July 1, 2018, they joined the Atlantic Sun Conference. Since joining NCAA Division I, the Lions have not yet appeared in the NCAA Tournament. At the NCAA Division II level, North Alabama won the 1979 and 1991 national championship.

Charles Robert Moir was an American college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies men's basketball team from 1976 until his resignation in October 1987. During his 11 seasons at Virginia Tech, Moir's Hokies compiled a 213–119 record. He was forced to resign after the discovery of severe NCAA violations. Including his time at Tech and coaching stints in high school and at Roanoke College and Tulane University, Moir compiled a career record of 616–238 in his 31 seasons as a high school and college head coach.
The North Alabama Lions are the athletic teams of the University of North Alabama, located in Florence, Alabama. The Lions are a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and compete within the ASUN Conference for all sports except football, which plays in the United Athletic Conference. The university has a total of 14 varsity sports teams, six men's teams and eight women's teams. The fall of 2018 marked the Lion's first year of their transition into Division I. They have a storied tradition in Division II and have earned numerous national titles competing in NCAA Division II's Gulf South Conference.
Henry Gorham Crisp was an American football, basketball, baseball and track coach and college athletics administrator. In spite of an accident when he was 13 years old that resulted in the loss of his right hand, Crisp went on to letter in football, basketball and track at both Hampden–Sydney College and Virginia Tech – then known primarily as VPI.
Allen Eugene Edwards is an American basketball coach and former basketball player. He is best known for winning two NCAA championships at the University of Kentucky as a player. Edwards was formerly the head basketball coach at the University of Wyoming.
