Tony Valente Pereira (born October 11, 1984) is a French comic artist. After being inspired by works of various other comic artists, Valente began illustrating The Four Princes of Ganahan in 2004. Following its completion, he worked with Didier Tarquin on S.P.E.E.D. Angels. After it ended in 2013, Valente began working on Radiant , which has received critical acclaim and an anime adaptation in 2018.
Tony Valente was born in Toulouse on October 11, 1984. [1] [2] Valente's family and friends were immigrants; his father came from Portugal, which was under dictatorship at the time his grandfather left. [3] As of 2023, Valente has resided in Montreal since 2010. [4] [5] [6]
As a teenager, Valente was a fan of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball , as well as various works by Didier Tarquin. [2] This inspired him to pursue a career in comic creation, which he began in 2004 with illustrations for The Four Princes of Ganahan . [2] One year after its completion, Valente launched his first solo project, Hana Attori. After its completion, he did illustrations for Didier Tarquin's S.P.E.E.D. Angels . [2]
Following its completion, Valente began working on Radiant and eventually released its first volume in 2013. [2] It performed very well commercially, especially in Japan. In 2015, thanks to help from manga artists Yusuke Murata and Hiro Mashima, Radiant became the first manfra to be published in the country. [7] [8] In October 2018, the series received an anime adaptation produced by Lerche. [9] The series has also been acclaimed by critics, and received the Canal BD / J'aime lire comic award in 2015. [10] It also received the Daruma for Best international manga at Japan Expo 2016. [11]
Hisashi Eguchi is a Japanese manga artist and one of Japan's most prominent illustrators of female characters. He made his professional manga debut with Susume!! Pirates in the manga anthology Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1977. Other notable works include Stop!! Hibari-kun!, and the gag series Charamono. Eguchi married idol Mari Mizutani in 1990.

Horikoshi is a graduate of Toho High School and Nagoya University of Arts and is a native of Aichi Prefecture. He was a former assistant for Yasuki Tanaka, creator of the manga series Summer Time Rendering, Hitomi no Catoblepas, and Kagijin.
Radiant is a French comic book series written and illustrated by Tony Valente. It has been published by Ankama since 2013 and has 19 volumes released in French as of November 2024. It was later published by the Japanese publisher Euromanga and Asukashinsha in 2015, making it the first manfra to be published in Japan. The series has been licensed by Viz Media in English since 2018 and has 18 volumes released. The series received an anime television series adaptation by Lerche that aired on NHK Educational TV from October 2018 to February 2019, followed by a second season aired from October 2019 to February 2020.
