Soulhead is a Japanese urban contemporary/R&B duo consisting of sisters Yoshika Sawayama (よしか) and Tsugumi Sawayama (つぐみ). Both were born in Hokkaidō; Yoshika was born on July 20, 1978 and Tsugumi was born on January 25, 1981. Since their debut, they have worked with several well-known artists, including Sowelu, Koda Kumi, Crystal Kay and Ken Hirai.
Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc., often abbreviated as SMEJ or simply SME, and also known as Sony Music Japan for short, is Sony's music arm in Japan. SMEJ is directly owned by Sony Corporation and independent from the United States-based Sony Music Entertainment due to its strength in the Japanese music industry. Oricon Inc., established in 1999, is the holding company at the head of a Japanese corporate group that supplies statistics and information on music and the music industry in Japan. It started as Original Confidence Inc., which was founded by Sōkō Koike in November 1967 and became known for its music charts. Oricon Inc. was originally set up as a subsidiary of Original Confidence and took over the latter’s Oricon record charts in April 2002.
Too Late [DJ Watarai Remix]/Song For You [HiroNYC Remix] was released as a vinyl. [3] The songs were later placed on their first remix album, Re-Construct Album Vol.1 Reflection, which would be released a month later in September. [4]
A remix album is an album consisting of remixes or rerecorded versions of an artists' earlier released material. The first act who employed the format was American singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson. As of 2007, the best-selling remix album of all time was Michael Jackson's Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix (1997).
Re-Construct Album Vol.1 "Reflection" is the first remix album by Japanese duo Soulhead. The album was constructed of EDM remix of some of their past songs and included famous Japanese DJs DJ Watarai and DJ Masterkey. It came in at #89 on Oricon before quickly falling off the charts.
The vinyl was released the same day as Break Up [DJ Masterkey Remix]/Playboy [Saigenji Remix].
"Break Up [DJ Masterkey Remix]/Playboy [Saigenji Remix]," is female duo Soulhead's second remix vinyl under Sony Music Entertainment Japan's sub-label onenation. It did not chart on Oricon.
