A report on Kandahar prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School described her working with the UNAMA on health care. [1] It stated that she was a high school graduate. It stated she sat on the Communications Committee. It stated she was a member of the Pashtun ethnic group, from the Suliemankhel tribe.
Zabul is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the south of the country. It has a population of 249,000. Zabul became an independent province from neighbouring Kandahar in 1963. Historically, it was part of the Zabulistan region. Qalat serves as the capital of the province. The major ethnic group are Pashtuns. Primary occupations within Zabul are agriculture and animal husbandry.
Parliamentary elections were held in Afghanistan alongside provincial elections on 18 September 2005. Former warlords and their followers gained the majority of seats in both the lower house and the provincial council. Women won 28% of the seats in the lower house, six more than the 25% guaranteed in the 2004 constitution.
Nawa is a large district in the far south of Ghazni Province, Afghanistan. It is 100 km south from Ghazni in a mountainous region. The salt lake Ab-i Istada is located in the northern part of the district. Nawa's population was estimated at 29,054 in 2002, of whom around 45% were children under 12. The district center is the village of Nawa. Military operations in the district were featured in articles in the Washington Post and the New York Times in October 2009. The district was controlled by the Taliban until 17 July 2017.
Qalāti Ghilzay, also called Qalāti Zābul or Qalāti Khaljī, or simply Qalāt or Kalat, is a city in southern Afghanistan and the capital of Zabul Province, and also known as the Home of Khilji's including Jalaluddin Khalji and Alauddin Khalji. It is linked by Highway 1 with Kandahar to the southwest and Ghazni and Kabul to the northeast. The population of the town are ethnic Pashtuns, mostly from the Ghilji tribe, after whom the city is named.
Dey Chopan, also spelled as Daichopan, is the northernmost district in Zabul province of Afghanistan. Historically the district belonged to Hazaras, which was occupied by Abdur Rahman Khan in the 19th century. In 2013, it had a population of about 38,300.

Fariba Ahmadi Kakar was elected to represent Kandahar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. Born in 1965 in Kandahar, a report on Kandahar prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated she was a "self-educated teacher" and a member of the Pashtun ethnic group. She sits on the Communications Committee. In August 2013, while travelling with her children in Gazni, Afghanistan, she was kidnapped by the Taliban who demanded the release of four Taliban prisoners in exchange for the release of Mrs Kakar. On 8 September 2013, she was freed in return for the release of several family members of Taliban fighters held in captivity.

It stated that she was a high school graduate, who once traveled to Paris.
