Larsen earned a B.A. at Dartmouth College in the United States in 1967 and a mag.art. (PhD) at the University of Oslo in 1977, with the dissertation Negotiating identity: ethnic incorporation among the Nova Scotia Micmacs. He worked at the University of Oslo 1977–1983 and the University of Bergen 1983–1990, and became an associate professor at NTNU in 1991, where he later became a full professor. [1]
He is known for his work on the historical and critical aspects of social anthropology. In 2005 he received the Article of the Year – Scandinavian University Press Academic Journal Prize. [2]
Tord Gustavsen is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer. He tours extensively worldwide, and he has been a bandleader for a trio, ensemble and quartet at various times, all bearing his name.
GeirThomas Hylland Eriksen is a Norwegian anthropologist known for his scholarly and popular writing on globalization, identity, ethnicity, and nationalism. He is currently Professor of Social Anthropology in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo. He has previously served as the President of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (2015-2016), as well as the Editor of Samtiden (1993-2001), Norsk antropologisk tidsskrift (1993-1997), the Journal of Peace Research, and Ethnos.
Britt Karin Larsen is a Norwegian poet, author and government scholar. Larsen debuted as a poet in 1978 with 5 mg blues og andre dikt, and has published many poetry collections and novels since. She is best known for her novel trilogy about Norwegian and Swedish Travellers, De som ser etter tegn (1997), De usynliges by (1998) and Sangen om løpende hester (1999). The trilogy has been called a literary monument for Romany people in Norway. Larsen was given the Norsk PEN's highest freedom prize, the Ossietzky-prisen, in 2000.
Jan Erik Vold is a Norwegian lyric poet, jazz vocal reciter, translator and author. He was a core member of the so-called "Profil generation", the circle attached to the literary magazine Profil. Throughout his career as an artist, he has had the ability to reach the public, both with his poetry and his political views. He has contributed greatly to the renewal of Norwegian poetry, and created interest in lyrical poetry. Jan Erik Vold is currently living in Stockholm.
Knut Kjeldstadli is a Norwegian historian. Kjeldstadli completed his examen artium at Oslo Cathedral School in 1967 before studying English and social economics at the University of Oslo, where he completed his master in history in 1977. He took his doctorate in 1989 with the paper Jerntid. Fabrikksystem og arbeidere ved Christiania Spigerverk og Kværner Brug fra om lag 1890 til 1940. He became adjunct professor at the University of Bergen in 1992, and then professor at the University of Oslo in 1996. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. Kjeldstadli is also involved in politics, in the Socialist Left Party as well as ATTAC. Kjeldstadli was awarded the Brage Prize in 2003 for serving as editor of Norsk innvandringshistorie. He was also a recipient of the Sverre Steen Award in 2004. He was the son of historian Sverre Kjeldstadli, paternal grandson of trade unionist Lars Kjeldstadli (1870–1934), maternal grandson of editor Daniel Grini and grandnephew of politician Sigvart Grini.

Arnved Nedkvitne is a Norwegian historian of the Middle Ages and Professor Emeritus of mediaeval history. He held the chair of Norwegian mediaeval history at the University of Trondheim from 1991 to 1993 and at the University of Oslo from 1993 to 2009. He is a member of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters, and was elected in 1993. Nedkvitne is regarded as "one of Norway's preeminent commercial historians" and as Norway's foremost mediaeval historian. His research has focused on Norwegian urban history, foreign trade, the economy of coastal communities and pre-modern social organisation. He is the foremost scholar of the relations between the Hanseatic League and Norway; his research has also explored topics such as honour, law and religious ethics in Scandinavia, the social consequences of literacy in the Middle Ages, lay beliefs of mediaeval Scandinavia, and the Norse settlement of Arctic Greenland.

Hans Jacob Arnold Kreyberg was a Norwegian professor of economics. He was born at Levanger, grew up in Oslo and spent the first part of the Second World War in the USA where he graduated from Riverdale before entering the Norwegian medical corps alongside his father Leiv Kreyberg.
