Toronto Design Week is the unofficial name of the events and exhibitions hosted by DesignTO, formerly known as the Toronto Design Offsite Festival. It is a design showcase in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where numerous design exhibitions take place over a period of approximately one week towards the end of January. [1] [2] [3]

DesignTO (formerly Toronto Design Offsite Festival)

Concurrently, the annual not-for-profit Toronto Design Offsite Festival (DesignTO) hosts over 100 design-related exhibitions, events, talks, and workshops at various venues across Toronto, including the TO DO Festival Symposium, the Interior Design Show, Outside the Box, Living Well, TO DO Festival Party, Gladstone Hotel's Come Up To My Room , an established annual alternative showcase for local design in its own right. [3] [4] Schools with design programs, including OCAD University, Ryerson University, Sheridan College, and George Brown College also organize student exhibitions during the Festival. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Interior Design Show

The biggest self-produced event during the festival is the annual Interior Design Show with over 50,000 visitors, the largest consumer fair of its kind in Canada. [9] [10]

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF), also known as The Royal, is an annual agricultural fair that is held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada during the first two weeks of November. It was inaugurated in 1922 in the Coliseum, on the grounds of Exhibition Place. It has since been expanded to also take up the Enercare Centre and remains an important exhibit for livestock breeders. Elizabeth II, as Queen of Canada, was the fair's royal patron. Members of the Canadian Royal Family have also been guests of honour at the fair. It is the largest indoor agricultural fair in the world.

The Gladstone House is a hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was built in 1889 and named after Gladstone Avenue, next to the hotel. The Parkdale area hotel was designed by local architect George Martell Miller in the Romanesque Revival style. The Gladstone House is one of the oldest hotel buildings still operating as a hotel in Toronto. Since renovations in the early 2000s, the hotel has become an arts hub in the West Queen West neighbourhood of Toronto.

DesignTO is a nonprofit arts organization that is most well known for DesignTO Festival, a design week showcasing Canadian designers held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Each year, the DesignTO Festival features over 100 free exhibitions and events.

The Toronto Queer Film Festival is an LGBT film festival held annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Launched in 2016 by a collective of artists and activists who perceived the programming of the city's established Inside Out Film and Video Festival to be too mainstream and commercialized, the event stages a program of independent feature and short films and videos over several days in the fall of each year, focusing primarily on works created from an alternative or activist perspective.

The Magenta Foundation is a charitable art publishing house based in Toronto. It was established in 2004 by MaryAnn Camilleri to publish work from both domestic and international emerging artists through exhibitions and publications. In 2005 the foundation produced its first book, Carte Blanche Vol.1: Photography, with the proceeds supporting the promotion and publication of work by artists between the ages of 13 and 25. Magenta publications and exhibitions are circulated in Canada and abroad, and the foundation brings international contemporary art to Canadian audiences.
