Toyin Tofade is the 10th president of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the first Black woman to hold that position. [1] [2] [3] [4]
She obtained a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile-Ife, [5] [6] a master's degree in Pharmacy Practice and a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Chapel Hill. [7]
In 2016, Tofade became the Dean and Professor at the Howard University College of Pharmacy in Washington, D.C. [6] [8] [9]
In 2020, she was appointed president-elect of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) academic pharmacy section, making her the first female black woman to be named an FIP fellow. [3] [7] She was also named chair-elect of the council of deans for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy that year.

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is located at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and includes a satellite campus at UNC Asheville. The Asheville School of Pharmacy campus opened in 2011, and graduated its first class in 2015.
The Delta State University, Abraka - popularly known as DELSU - is a State government-owned university in Nigeria with the main campus located at Abraka, Delta State and it's sub campus at Oleh. The Oleh campus was established with the 1995 Amended Edict. The university is a multiple-campus university having two campuses within a distance of about 52 km apart. There is a long history of women in dentistry. Women are depicted as assistant dentists in the middle ages. Prior to the 19th-century, dentistry was largely not yet a clearly defined and regulated profession with formal educational requirements. Individual female dentists are known from the 18th-century. When the profession was regulated in the 19th-century, it took a while before women achieved the formal education and permission to engage in dentistry.

Elizabeth Wayne is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and former Postdoc at the Center for Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Wayne was a 2017 TED fellow and is a member of a number of professional societies, including the National Society of Black Physicists.
