Tracy Dempsey (born October 9,1950) is an American politician who served in both houses of the West Virginia State Legislature. [1]

It is bordered by Pennsylvania to the north and east,Maryland to the east and northeast,Virginia to the southeast,Kentucky to the southwest,and Ohio to the northwest. West Virginia is the 10th-smallest state by area and ranks as the 12th-least populous state,with a population of 1,793,716 residents. The capital and largest city is Charleston.

The Eastern Panhandle is the eastern of the two panhandles in the U.S. state of West Virginia;the other is the Northern Panhandle. It is a small stretch of territory in the northeast of the state,bordering Maryland and Virginia. Some sources and regional associations only identify the Eastern Panhandle as being composed of Morgan,Berkeley,and Jefferson counties. Joseph Manchin III is an American politician and businessman serving as the senior United States senator from West Virginia,a seat he has held since 2010. A moderate member of the Democratic Party,Manchin was the 34th governor of West Virginia from 2005 to 2010 and the 27th secretary of state of West Virginia from 2001 to 2005. He became the state's senior U.S. senator when Jay Rockefeller retired in 2015 and has been West Virginia's only congressional Democrat since. Before entering politics,Manchin helped found and was the president of Enersystems,a coal brokerage company his family owns and operates.
Robert Lee "Sam" Huff was an American professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins. He played college football for West Virginia University. He is a member of both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
U.S. Route 48 (US 48),also known as the incomplete Corridor H of the Appalachian Development Highway System,extends from Interstate 79 (I-79) in Weston,West Virginia,eastward across the crest of the Allegheny Mountains to I-81 in Strasburg,Virginia. Robert Edward Huggins is an American college basketball coach. Nicknamed “Huggy Bear”,he is currently the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team. Huggins previously held the head coaching positions at Walsh College (1980–1983),the University of Akron (1984–1989),the University of Cincinnati (1989–2005) and Kansas State University (2006–2007). He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2022. Huggins is currently the winningest active head coach in NCAA D-I basketball.
Interstate 470 (I-470) is a 10.63-mile-long (17.11 km) auxiliary Interstate Highway of I-70 that bypasses the city of Wheeling,West Virginia,in the US. I-470 is one of 13 auxiliary Interstate Highways in Ohio and the only auxiliary Interstate Highway in West Virginia. The western terminus of I-470 is an interchange with I-70 in Richland Township,Ohio. Traveling southeast through rural Belmont County,I-470 approaches the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge,which spans the Ohio River. After crossing the river into Ohio County,West Virginia,the highway continues east toward the Wheeling communities of Bethlehem and Elm Grove and its eastern terminus at I-70 near Elm Grove. The portion of the highway in West Virginia is named the USS West Virginia Memorial Highway by proclamation of then-Governor Cecil H. Underwood on the 59th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The West Virginia Mountaineers are the athletic teams that represent West Virginia University,an American university located in Morgantown,West Virginia. The school is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I. The Mountaineers have been a member of the Big 12 Conference since 2012. At that time,the Mountaineers joined the Mid-American Conference as an affiliate member for men's soccer. The men's soccer team now competes in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Cincinnati–West Virginia rivalry is a college sports rivalry between the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and West Virginia University Mountaineers,which are about 300 miles (480 km) apart. The rivalry dates from their first college football game in 1921,and has continued across all sports,including basketball since 1940. The rivalry intensified while the two schools were conference foes and members of the Big East Conference from 2005 to 2011.
