Trans Air Cargo Service was originally founded in 1992 as Transair Cargo, but its operations were shut down in 1998 due to the Second Congo War. It was restarted in 2004 as Trans Air Cargo Service. [2]
Trans Air Cargo Service operates services to Bukavu, Bumba, Gbadolite, Gemena, Goma, Kamina, Kananga, Kindu, Kinshasa, Kisangani, Lisala, Lodja, Lubumbashi, Mbandaka, Mbuji-Mayi and Tshikapa. [3]
Trans Air Cargo Service operates a fleet of two Douglas DC-8s, 9S-AJG and 9S-AJO, one of the last few operators of the type in the world, along with Samaritan's Purse and Skybus Jet Cargo. [4] In addition, 9S-AJG is the only airworthy DC-8 with the original Pratt & Whitney JT3D engine. [5]
