The Guildford Flames are a professional ice hockey team based in Guildford, Surrey and they play their home games in the Guildford Spectrum. They compete in the top-tier of hockey in the United Kingdom, the Elite Ice Hockey League.
The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Premier Sports Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2003 following the demise of the Ice Hockey Superleague, it is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom. The league operate three competitions for members; the play-offs determine the national champion, following a regular season league competition for which separate champions are also crowned. Finally, a stand-alone cup competition, the Challenge Cup, is also held annually, beginning with the group stages followed by a knock-out format.
The Edinburgh Capitals were a Scottish ice hockey club, playing in the UK-wide Elite Ice Hockey League. They were based in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. The team played at the Murrayfield Ice Rink, close to Murrayfield Rugby stadium.
The British National League (BNL) was the second tier of the professional ice hockey league in the United Kingdom between 1996 and 2005. Although no formal promotion and relegation existed during its period of existence, it was considered to have been a standard below that of the Ice Hockey Superleague and above that of the English National Ice Hockey League and the Scottish National League. Fife Flyers and Guildford Flames were the only two teams to consistently feature in the BNL during every season of the league's history.
Fife Flyers is the oldest professional ice hockey club in the UK, established in 1938. The Flyers play their home games at Fife Ice Arena in Kirkcaldy which has a capacity of just over 3000. The arena is home to not only Fife Flyers, who play in the Elite Ice Hockey League but also to Kirkcaldy Junior Ice Hockey Club. Traditionally many of the Flyers' players have come up through the junior ranks to play at a professional level.

Owen Fussey is a Canadian-British former professional ice hockey forward. He was selected 90th overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals and played four games for them during the 2003-04 NHL season. He later played in Europe, namely the United Kingdom's Elite Ice Hockey League, as well as the Great Britain national team.
The Dundee Stars are a professional ice hockey team based in the Scottish city of Dundee. They were formed in 2001 and play their home games at the Dundee Ice Arena, situated off the city's main Kingsway dual carriageway. The current title sponsor of the team is 'Trade-Mart'.
Brendan Mikkelson is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for Welsh team Cardiff Devils in the UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He was a second round selection of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, 31st overall, at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He was a member of the 2007 Memorial Cup-winning Vancouver Giants team, and was named a tournament all-star on defence.

Glasgow Clan is a Scottish professional ice hockey team. It was formed in 2010 as the UK Elite Ice Hockey League expanded into the west of Scotland market, and are based at the Braehead Arena in Renfrewshire. It is one of three Scottish clubs playing in the top British league alongside Dundee Stars and the Fife Flyers.
Marc Cheverie is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Dundee Stars of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Cheverie was selected by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Chris Carrozzi is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He last played for English club Guildford Flames of the UK EIHL. Carrozzi was originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the sixth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft while playing major junior hockey with the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

The Manchester Storm are a British professional ice hockey team founded in 2015. They are members of the Elite Ice Hockey League and are based at Planet Ice in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.
The 2017–18 EIHL season was the 15th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The regular season commenced on 9 September 2017 and ended on 25 March 2018. The reigning league champions were the Cardiff Devils, who won the championship for the first time in 2016–17. The Devils retained their regular season title, with a 3–2 victory away at the Belfast Giants on 16 March 2018. The Devils also won the playoff title, beating the Sheffield Steelers – who had defeated the Devils 12 months prior in a 6–5 double overtime game – 3–1 in the final, winning a first playoff title since 1998–99.
During the 2018–19 season, the Guildford Flames will participate in the Elite Ice Hockey League. It will be the 27th year of ice hockey played by the Guildford Flames and the twelfth season under Paul Dixon as head coach.
The 2018–19 EIHL season was the 16th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The regular season commenced on 8 September 2018 and ended on 31 March 2019, with the playoffs following in April 2019. The two-time reigning league champions were the Cardiff Devils, who won both the regular season and playoff titles in 2017–18.
