The AHS mascot is a Bulldog, and its school colors are green and gold. The AHS Bulldogs football team play their home games at Joe Burrow Stadium, named after Athens High School graduate and Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow, who was selected first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. In August 2009 the current RVHS facility was officially opened, taking the place of the previous RVHS located in nearby Cheshire. South Gallia School colors are Red, Gold, and White. The school opened in 1996 after a de-consolidation. The building is located next to the site of the old Hannan Trace High School. South Gallia is a combination of two elementary schools known as Hannan Trace and Southwestern, although Southwestern is a split school between South Gallia and River Valley. South Gallia has around 250 students enrolled. South Gallia has also achieved some of the highest OGT scores in Ohio. South Gallia High School's current Principal is Bray M. Shamblin. Previous principals include Tim Scarberry and Scot West.

Meigs High School is a public high school in Pomeroy, Ohio, United States. It is one of four high schools in Meigs County. The school mascot is the Marauders. Meigs High School is the creation of several school districts within Meigs County including Middleport, Pomeroy, Bedford, Northwestern, and Salem. Consolidation took place between the years 1965 and 1967 with construction of the new school beginning in the summer of 1968. The current school opened in 1970, and is still in use today.

Clay Junior-Senior High School is a public high school in Clay Township, Ohio, United States, located four miles (6 km) north of the Portsmouth in Scioto County. It is the only high school in the Clay Local School District. Clay is a rural high school serving about 300 students in grades 7-12 in Southern Ohio. The first class graduated in 1940.

Indiana High School Athletic Association

The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is the arbiter of interscholastic competition among public and private high schools in the U.S. state of Indiana. It monitors a system that divides athletically-competing high schools in Indiana based on the school's enrollment. The divisions, known as classes, are intended to foster fair competition among schools of similar sizes. A school ranked 3A is larger than a school ranked 1A, but not as large as a 6A-ranked school. Only football has 6 classes. Boys' basketball, girls' basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball are divided into four classes. Boys' and girls' soccer have featured three classes since the 2017–18 school year. All other sports compete in a single class.
