Tripura People's Front (TPF) was a regional party in Tripura, India. It celebrated its third foundation day in July 2017. [1] On 20 March 2022, it merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Tripura is a state in Northeast India. The third-smallest state in the country, it covers 10,491 km2 (4,051 sq mi); and the seventh-least populous state with a population of 36.71 lakh. It is bordered by Assam and Mizoram to the east and by Bangladesh to the north, south and west. Tripura is divided into 8 districts and 23 sub-divisions, where Agartala is the capital and the largest city in the state. Tripura has 19 different tribal communities with a majority of the Bengali population. Bengali, English and Kokborok are the state's official languages.

The All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) was a Tripuri nationalist militant group active in India's Tripura State. It was founded on 11 July 1990, by a group of former Tripura National Volunteer members under the leadership of Ranjit Debbarma. The ATTF is considered a terrorist organisation by India. According to the South Asian Terrorism Portal, approximately 90% of the ATTF's administration are Hindu and the rest are Christians. The group was said to have been formed as the armed wing of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) but split into its own organization. The group was headquartered in Tarabon in Bangladesh.

The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) is a regional political party in Tripura, India. It is a member of the National Democratic Alliance and North-East Democratic Alliance. The party was merged into the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) in 2001, However diverged out in 2009. The party is allied with BJP in the 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election and won 8 seats out of 9 contested seats. The party got 7.5% of the total votes polled. The BJP got 36 seats and with a total of 44 seats the BJP-IPFT coalition have two-thirds majority at the Legislative Assembly.
Tipraland is the name of a proposed state in India for the indigenous Tripuri people in the tribal areas of the Tripura state. They demand the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council and some surrounding areas to be made into a separate state from Tripura. The proposed state covers 68% of the total geographical area of the Tripura and is home to over one-third of the total population of Tripura.
The politics of Tripura, a state in Northeast India, has been dominated by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. As of 2020, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the ruling party in the states's legislative assembly and also won the two parliamentary constituencies in 2019 Indian general election. As of 2021, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has entered the political area of Tripura. It secured more than 20% votes in the 2021 Agartala Municipal Elections securing the position of runner up ahead of the CPI-M. It also secured the position of runner up in several other wards around the state garnering nearly 17% of votes all around the state. Ashish Das an MLA from the BJP has defected to the AITC.

The Tamil Progressive Alliance is a Sri Lankan political alliance. It was formed in 2015 by the Democratic People's Front (DPF), National Union of Workers (NUW) and the Up-Country People's Front (UCPF) to represent the 1.5 million Tamils, mostly Indian Tamils, living outside the Northern and Eastern provinces.
The 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election was held on 18 February for 59 of the state's 60 constituencies. The counting of votes took place on 3 March 2018. With 43.59% of the vote, the BJP secured a majority of seats (36) and subsequently formed the government with Biplab Kumar Deb as Chief Minister. The former governing Left Front alliance while receiving 44.35% of the vote secured only 16 seats.

Biplab Kumar Deb is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Tripura. He was the state unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura from 7 January 2016 up to 2018. He led the BJP to victory in the 2018 Legislative Assembly Election, ending the twenty-five year rule of the Left Front government led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He took his oath as the tenth Chief Minister of Tripura on 9 March 2018. Deb resigned from the post on 14 May 2022, a year ahead of elections.
Elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) were held on 5 March 2005.
Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance is a regional political party which was initially a social organization of Tripura, India. The TIPRA is led by Pradyot Bikram Manikya DebBarma.
The 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held in Tripura by March 2023 to elect all 60 members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
