Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) [2] [3] is the governing body to monitor, control and prevent pollution in the state of Tripura. It operates under the Department of Science, Technology, and Environment, Government of Tripura. [4]

History

The Government of Tripura established the Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) in 1988 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act of 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act of 1981. [5] [6]

The Mutha River is a river in western Maharashtra, India. It arises in the Western Ghats and flows eastward until it merges with the Mula River in the city of Pune. It has been dammed twice, first at the Panshet Dam, used as a source of drinking water and irrigation for Pune city. The water released here is dammed again at Khadakwasla and is an important source of drinking water for Pune. One more dam has been built later on the Mutha river at Temghar.

The Water Act 1973 is an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that reorganised the water, sewage and river management industry in England and Wales. Founded in 1951, the federation is affiliated to Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE), the world body for chess. The AICF has produced Viswanathan Anand, Pentala Harikrishna, Vidit Santosh Gujrathi, Dommaraju Gukesh, Nihal Sarin, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa and many other grandmasters. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India is a statutory organization under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Mo.E.F.C.C.). It was established in 1974 under the Water Act, 1974. The CPCB is also entrusted with the powers and functions under the Air Act, 1981. It serves as a field formation and also provides technical services to the Ministry of Environment and Forests under the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. It coordinates the activities of the State Pollution Control Boards by providing technical assistance and guidance and also resolves disputes among them. The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) is an ministry of Government of Telangana. It operates under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of the State of Telangana, India. The board is tasked with enforcing laws related to environmental protection.

The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is an independent statutory authority that sits in the Environment portfolio as part of the Planning and Environment cluster. It was established as an independent governing board in February 2012 separate from the Office of Environment & Heritage. The EPA is the state’s primary environmental regulator, working with businesses, government, community and environment groups to manage and reduce pollution, waste and adverse impacts on the environment.

The Ministry of Environment is a ministry of the Government of Maharashtra. The ministry is responsible for promoting environmental issues in Maharashtra.

Haryana State Pollution Control Board was formed as statutory organisation by Government of Haryana in the year 1974 to preserve the wholesomeness of water and prevent water pollution after Government of India legislation of Water Act, 1974. The board was given additional responsibility to prevent Air Pollution from the year 1981 with the enactment of Air Act, 1981 and in general for implementation of Environment laws and rules.
