Anton Trishane Nonis (born 28 September 1968) is a Sri Lankan cricket coach and former player. [1]
Nonis played eight matches of first-class cricket for Moors Sports Club and Central Province [1]
Nonis coached Air Force Sports Club,Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club,and Navy Sports Club in Sri Lankan first class domestic cricket,as well as De Mazenod College and St. Benedicts College [2] In 2013 he coached the Qatar national under-19 cricket team. [3]
In September 2021,Nonis was appointed head coach of the Bhutan national cricket team. [4] His first tournament in charge was the 2022 Malaysia Quadrangular Series. [5]
The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team,nicknamed The Lions,represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It is a full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test,One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status. The team first played international cricket in 1926–27 and became an associate member of the ICC in 1965. They were awarded the Test status in 1981,which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket-playing nation. The team is administered by Sri Lanka Cricket.
Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara born 27 October 1977 is a Sri Lankan former professional cricketer who represented Sri Lanka in 134 Test matches from 2000 to 2015,including fifteen as captain. In first-class cricket,he played for Nondescripts Cricket Club from 1997–98 to 2013–14 and for Surrey County Cricket Club from 2015 to 2017. He also played for numerous franchise teams. He was born in Matale,Central Province.
Sahan Hewa Thilina Kandambi is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and a former T20 international captain for Sri Lanka. A specialist middle-order batsman,Kandambi was marked out as a talent early,playing for the Sri Lanka Under 19s from 1998 to 2001. Thusara Prabath Kodikara is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer who represented the Malaysian national team between 2004 and 2009. He was born in Sri Lanka,and played first-class cricket there in the 1990s before emigrating to Malaysia. Kodikara played as an all-rounder,batting right-handed and bowling right-arm medium pace.

Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who plays all three formats of the game for the national team and also serves as the vice-captain of the national team in T20I and ODI. Aleft-handed batsman,Asalanka made his international debut for Sri Lanka in June 2021.

The 2022 Asia Cup Qualification was a men's cricket tournament which took place in Oman in August 2022 to determine qualification for the 2022 Asia Cup. The 2020 editions of the ACC Western and Eastern regional T20 tournaments were held in February and March of the same year by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Thirteen teams competed,with the aim of progressing to the qualifier. These were scheduled to be followed by the Asia Cup Qualifier tournament in Malaysia,which was due to be played in August 2020. However,in July 2020 the Asia Cup was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,resulting in the postponement of the qualifier. In May 2021,the Asian Cricket Council confirmed that there would be no Asia Cup in 2021,with that edition of the tournament deferred until 2023. It was later announced that there would be a T20I Asia Cup in 2022,to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

The 2022–23 Hong Kong Quadrangular Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament,that took place in Hong Kong in March 2023. The participating teams were the hosts Hong Kong along with Bahrain,Kuwait and Malaysia. Shortly before the tournament,Cricket Hong Kong announced that former Kent County Cricket Club player Simon Willis became the new head coach of their senior men's team.
