Trud Stadium is a bandy arena in Ulyanovsk, Russia. [1] It is the home arena of bandy club Volga-SDYuSShOR, which is playing in the second-tier Russian Bandy Supreme League. [2] With a higher spectator capacity than the more modern Volga-Sport-Arena in the same city, the semi-final Russia participated in and the final of the 2016 Bandy World Championship were played at Trud.

Russian Bandy Supreme League is the second tier of Russian bandy, below Russian Bandy Super League. In the 2016–17 season, 23 teams competed in three groups. Stroitel and Zorky have been promoted to the Super League for the 2017-18 season, while no team has been relegated from the Super League.

Trud holds 15,000 seated spectators. The total area of the stadium is 40,711 m2 with an ice of 8,600 m2 or 100x65 m playing field. [3]

2016 Bandy World Championship 2016 edition of the Bandy World Championship

Bandy World Championship 2016, the XXXVI Bandy World Championship, was held with Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia, as host region. Most of the games was played at the Volga-Sport-Arena in Ulyanovsk. Because of its higher spectator capacity, the group stage matches between Russia and Sweden and between Russia and Kazakhstan were played at Trud Stadium, which also hosted one semi-final and the final. Some games were played in nearby Dimitrovgrad at Stadium Stroitel.

Vyacheslav Frolovich Lampeyev was a Russian field hockey defender. He was part of the Soviet team that won the bronze medal at the 1980 Olympics. He scored both goals in the bronze medal match against Poland, leading to a narrow 2:1 victory.
