Truesdell is a residential and business neighborhood of the city of Kenosha in east-central Kenosha County, Wisconsin, United States. [1] It lies along Highway 50 on the former Milwaukee Road (now Canadian Pacific) main railroad line from Chicago, Illinois (C&M Subdivision). The last Milwaukee Road passenger trains stopped in Truesdell in 1945, but there are still switching facilities present. The community was settled by Gideon and Julia Truesdell in the 19th century, [2] but the community itself has disappeared within the city of Kenosha and related surrounding development, though some businesses still identify with the original name. The Truesdell post office, organized in 1870, closed on May 1, 1953; its postmistress, Mrs. Jennie H. Alsted, had operated it from her home's back porch for 31 years. [3]

Kenosha Engine was an automobile and engine factory in Kenosha, Wisconsin. First opened for automobile production in 1902 by the Thomas B. Jeffery Company and later operated by American Motors, the Kenosha Engine Plant saw all operations halted by Chrysler and it was permanently closed in October 2010 and demolished between December 2012 and April 2013.
Aurora is now part of the city of Kenosha, in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, but was the site of one of the area's earliest post offices, opened in the early 1830s at the Willis Tavern, the Aurora community center on the west side of the old Green Bay Trail just north of what is now 60th Street. A Chicago-Milwaukee stagecoach line began operating in 1836 and served Aurora. The post office was finally closed in 1843. No traces of the community exist today.

Sheridan Road is a major north-south street that leads from Diversey Parkway in Chicago, Illinois, north to the Illinois-Wisconsin border and beyond to Racine. Throughout most of its run, it is the easternmost north-south through street, closest to Lake Michigan. From Chicago, it passes through Chicago's wealthy lakeside North Shore suburbs, and then Waukegan and Zion, until it reaches the Illinois-Wisconsin state line in Winthrop Harbor. In Wisconsin, the road leads north through Pleasant Prairie and Kenosha, until it ends on the south side of Racine, in Mount Pleasant.
Richard I. Bong Air Force Base is an unfinished Air Force base. It was named after World War II aviator Major Richard Ira Bong. The base was intended to be an air defense fighter base for the Chicago and Milwaukee areas. It was conceived in the early 1950s and construction began in the mid-1950s. Construction had barely begun when the base was transferred to the Strategic Air Command. Eventually, the base was considered obsolete as it had become apparent to Air Force officials that the base would be redundant with installations nearby that would soon have space for more units. The base was abandoned in 1959 and disposed of the following year.
The Original Outlet Mall was an indoor outlet mall located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Opening in 1982 as the first outlet mall in Wisconsin, the mall was demolished in two phases from 2005 to 2006, with an Ashley HomeStore built on part of the site.

Root Creek was a hamlet in Sections 21-22 and 27-28 of the Town of Greenfield in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States, on the Milwaukee-Janesville plank road, at what is now roughly the intersection of that thoroughfare and 68th Street. The body of water after which it was named is nowadays referred to as the Root River.
