Tryst is the annual technical festival of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, held in February and March. Competitive events, guest lectures, technical workshops, and exhibitions all take place at the festival.

History and awards

The first Tryst event happened in 2012. It is entirely student organised. There is an Overall Coordinator (OC), 7 core team members, 60 coordinators,200+ activity heads and 700+ campus ambassadors. The team is divided into the following departments: Marketing, Publicity, Events, Guest Lectures, Finance, Infrastructure, Workshops, Prizes, Hospitality & Security.

Tryst is recognised by the United Nations.[ citation needed ] The Tryst logo is modelled on the hyperbolic paraboloid.

Competitions are the generally major part of any technical festival. Tryst hosts many exciting competitions every year. Some of the interesting and popular competitions hosted by tryst are International Robotics Challenge, [1] HACK-IT, [2] National Junior Robotics Challenge, [3] Android Hackathon, [4] Quadcopter Challenge, [5] IOT Challenge, [6] Asgard [7] and many more.

Workshops

Examples of workshops held at Tryst include Ethical Hacking, [8] Automobile Mechanics, [9] Sixth Sense Robotixs, [10] Android App Development, [11] Cloud Computing, [12] Quadcopter/UAV, [13] Internet of Things, [14] and Mock Stock. [15] [16] Each year the festival has new workshops to give an overview of the subject and provide hands on experience.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras is a public technical and research university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), it is recognised as an Institute of National Importance. Founded in 1959 with technical and financial assistance from the former government of West Germany, it was the third IIT established by the Government of India. IIT Madras has been ranked as the top engineering institute in India for five years in a row (2016–2020) by the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Techkriti

Techkriti is an annual four-day inter-collegiate technical and entrepreneurship festival at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur which is held each March. The 26th Techkriti will be held from 19 to 22 March 2020. The festival began in 1995 to develop student technological innovation. The word Techkriti is derived from tech (technology) and the Sanskrit kriti (creation).

IIT Patna

Indian Institute of Technology Patna is an autonomous institute of education and research in science, engineering and technology located in Patna, India. It is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It is one of the new IITs established by an Act of the Indian Parliament on August 6, 2008.

IIT Gandhinagar

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is a public engineering institution located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It has been declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.

Rendezvous (festival)

Rendezvous, famously known as RDV is the annual Cultural Festival of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. It is a four-day-long event held in October every year. In the 2019 version, Rendezvous hosted 280+ events and had a footfall of over 163,000, 15,000+ participants and 200+ artists from more than 25 countries.

Indian Institutes of Technology Autonomous Indian public engineering institute group

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are premiere autonomous public technical and research universities located across India. They are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961, which has declared them as Institutes of National Importance and lays down their powers, duties, and framework for governance. The Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 lists twenty-three institutes. Each IIT is autonomous, linked to the others through a common council, which oversees their administration. The Minister of Education is the ex officio Chairperson of the IIT Council. As of 2020, the total number of seats for undergraduate programs in all IITs is 16,053. The only major requirement to admit to these institutions at undergraduate and postgraduate level is to pass the JEE Advanced and GATE respectively.

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College Public engineering institution in West Bengal, India

The Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, abbreviated as JGEC, is a premiere public engineering institution established in 1961. It is situated in the Jalpaiguri, the divisional headquarters of the eight districts of North Bengal. The university offers bachelor's degrees (B.Tech) in six branches and master's degrees (M.Tech) in two branches of engineering. The students and alumni of JGEC are informally referred to as JGECians or Joluites. JGEC has the largest campus among all government engineering colleges in the state of West Bengal. Techniche

Techniche is the annual Techno-Management festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. The festival was started in 1999 by a group of students within the IIT Guwahati campus. Spread over three days and four nights, Techniche is generally conducted towards the end of August each year.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University

University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) is an engineering institute of Panjab University, Chandigarh, India offering undergraduate (BE), postgraduate as well as doctoral courses. The institute is granted funds from the central government to improve its infrastructure and facilities. UIET has interactions and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with industry and academia like Infosys, IBM, IMTECH, and Bharti Group. The institute has a memorandum signed with the University of Western Australia.

Wissenaire is the annual techno-management festival of Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar held in the Arugul, permanent campus of IIT Bhubaneswar. It is one of the most awaited technical festival of East India. It is a three-day-long event usually held during the third week of January every year. The word Wissenaire is derived from the German word ‘Wissen’ meaning knowledge and ‘aire’ meaning free. Thus it is justified by its tagline knowledge runs free. Wissenaire encompasses various sectors of technology, science and management. These include quizzing, coding, designing, robotics, planning and testing the creativity and innovative spirit of the young technical minds.

The Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Bombay

The Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Bombay, also known as E-Cell, IIT Bombay, is the primary entrepreneurship promoting body of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, managed and run completely by the students of the institute. It organises initiatives like the annual business plan competition Eureka! and the flagship event, The Entrepreneurship Summit (E-Summit) in January each year, which receives a footfall of over 20000.

Gandhi Institute for Technology

Gandhi Institute For Technology (GIFT), Bhubaneswar is a private engineering institution located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The institute is affiliated to BPUT and has been approved by AICTE. GIFT is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institute. This engineering college is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), International Accreditation Organization (IAO), NAAC with 'A' Grade and also recognized and approved as a research center by Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO)' by Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute was founded in 2007 by Balaram Panda Trust. The institute was awarded as the Most Promising Engineering College and Best Engineering College by Governor of Odisha. In 2012 GIFT Engineering college became a remote center to IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur for conducting ISTE workshops. The institute provides courses in B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and MBA. IIT Kharagpur alumni Patitapaban Panda is the vice-chairman of GIFT College.

ATMOS (festival)

ATMOS is the annual techno-management festival of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, located in Hyderabad, India. It is known for a wide range of events, such as workshops, quizzes, lectures, technical exhibitions and competitions. Among the notable events conducted annually during it are the national level quiz Enigma and BITS MUN Hyderabad. Started in 2012, ATMOS aims at improving the technical culture among Indian colleges as well as providing a platform to showcase their abilities. In its sixth year now, ATMOS is growing rapidly with participation from students, academicians, entrepreneurs and speakers from all over India.

University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata

The University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata is a private university located in New Town, Kolkata. It provides engineering, technological & management education. It was established in 2015 by IEM Trust, Act no. XXV and it is the third engineering institution founded by the IEM-UEM Group. This university is administrated by the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) education group trust.

Vikram Kumar is an Indian material physicist, academic and an emeritus fellow of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is a former director of the Sold State Physics Laboratory of IIT Delhi and is known for his studies on semiconductor technology. He has worked on ultra thin oxide MOS structures, silicon, III-V and II—VI semiconductors which is reported to have assisted in understanding their characterization. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to physical sciences in 1992. He is also a recipient of the Distinguished Materials Scientist of the Year award of the Materials Research Society of India. In 2019, he inaugurated, with colleagues, the Aryabhatt Auditorium at the “Prof. Rajendra Singh Institute of Physical Sciences for Study and Research" at the Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University of Jaunpur.
