TurnTable End of the Year

The TurnTable End of the Year charts are a top 50 list of and cumulative measure of singles' performance in the Nigerian music market, based upon the TurnTable charts, during any given chart year. TurnTable's "chart year" runs from the first "week" of January to the second week of December. The chart is released on 30 December of every year and published in TurnTable magazine's final print issue of each year.

History

Following the launch of the weekly TurnTable Top 50 chart in November 2020. TurnTable began publishing its yearly issue on its website and in its magazine. TurnTable publishes its data, with its reports, at the end of each quarter of the year. TurnTable releases its Year to Date Charts to get an insight into the performance of music in the country in the year review. [1] On 21 December 2021, TurnTable, Clout Africa, and Triller announced their partnership to launch its top 20 end-of-year chart roundtable countdown on Triller. [2]

"The Final Countdown" is a song by Swedish rock band Europe, released in 1986. Written by lead singer Joey Tempest, it was based on a keyboard riff he made in the early 1980s, with lyrics inspired by David Bowie's "Space Oddity". Originally made to just be a concert opener, it is the first single and title track from the band's third studio album. The music video by Nick Morris, made to promote the single, has received 1 billion views on YouTube. The video features footage from the band's two concerts at Solnahallen in Solna, as well as extra footage of the sound checks and footage from Stockholm. The song "Pictures", from the 2017 album Walk the Earth, is a sequel to "The Final Countdown".

The song was written by Ladipoe and Buju, and produced by Andre Vibez. "Feeling" spent four consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Nigerian TurnTable Top 50 chart, and became the most played song on Nigeria radio from 26 May to 13 July 2021. The song peaked at number 1 on the TurnTable Top 50 Streaming Songs and peaked at number 3 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart. On 14 July 2022, it debut at number 6 on TurnTable newly launched Top Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart.

"Nobody" is the second single from Nigerian disk jockey DJ Neptune's forthcoming second studio album Greatness II: The Sounds Of Neptune. The song was released as a single on March 5, 2020. It was produced by Magic Sticks and features vocals from Nigerian singers Joeboy and Mr Eazi. "Nobody" is the first Nigerian song to peak at number one, on TurnTable End of the Year Top 50 chart.

"Peru" is a song by Nigerian singer Fireboy DML. It was released on 20 July 2021, through YBNL Nation, and distributed by Empire. "Peru" was written by Fireboy DML, Ivory Scott, & Kolten Perine and produced by Shizzi & Perine. On 23 December 2021, a reworked version of "Peru" was released, in collaboration with English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The music video for the version with Sheeran was released on 24 December 2021. An additional remix, featuring rappers 21 Savage and Blxst was also later released. The song was nominated at the 7th annual African Entertainment Awards USA for Song of the Year. The song is not about the country of Peru, but rather a reference to Nigerian singer Peruzzi; the government of Peru nonetheless reacted positively to the song on Twitter.

TurnTable is a Nigerian music and entertainment magazine founded by Ayomide Oriowo, and Similoluwa Adegoke. TurnTable focuses primarily on music charts, news, and events. Its music charts include the Top 100, and the Year-End chart. TurnTable magazine has two issues, and its first issue was published on 19 December 2020, by Similoluwa Adegoke. Its issues are printed in English language. In 2023 the magazine launched its music recording certification, TurnTable Certification System of Nigeria to represent the recording certification system of music industry in Nigeria.

As of April 2022, "With You" has received 10.5 million streams on Boomplay.

"Love Don't Cost a Dime" is a song by Nigerian singer and songwriter Magixx, from his eponymous debut EP Magixx. It was officially released as a single on 24 September 2021 by Mavin Records. The song was written by Magixx, and produced by Lomon. A new version of the song titled "Love Don't Cost a Dime (Re-Up)" featuring Nigerian singer Ayra Starr was released as a single in 2022.

The TurnTable Top 100 Albums is the official album streaming chart in Nigeria. It is compiled every Tuesday by a Nigeria-based music digital streaming tracking company and published every Tuesday by TurnTable magazine. The list shows the 50 best-streaming music albums of the moment in Nigeria. The first issue of the Nigeria Top 50, was launched on Tuesday, 8 November 2022, and the first number-one album was Mr. Money with the Vibe by Asake.

"Baddest Boy" is a song by Nigerian singer and songwriter Skiibii, released on 4 November 2021 by More Grace Music. It became a commercial success in Nigeria, and was produced by Runcheck. A remix of the song featuring Davido was released on 21 January 2022 and became a commercial success in the U.K., and America. "Baddest Boy" spent five consecutive weeks at number 1 on TurnTable Top 50, number three on U.K. Official Afrobeats Chart, and at number eleven on Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs.
